It's an infopreneur's nightmare - "What if my book doesn't get published?"

Gone are the days when having a finished book alone was fair qualification to have it published. Today, authors with varying levels of skill, experience and status are battling each other aggressively to make sure their manuscripts end up as one of the small pile of published books.

It's not easy for publishers. There are many excellent books that are waiting to be published - but they are too risky for publishers to take on because of a variety of reasons.

Let's take a look at some things to do so you can make sure you write only published books, and not waste your precious time spinning wheels.

Build Your Platform

Ask any author who has published books and they will tell you it's easy - when you have an audience. That's why best-selling authors have less trouble getting future books published. The marketplace is already aware of their name, has validated their writing, and will very likely buy the next time they write a book.

And that takes a load off the publisher's mind, because now he or she can print copies of the book knowing there is a good chance they will sell out, earning the publishing house money instead of losing it.

Learn Book Marketing

Having published books is of no value to you unless you can sell them to a large number of people. And so it is imperative that every author learns how to market their writing.

You as an infopreneur know that turning words into wealth implies someone is giving you money in exchange for your words, helping you build wealth as you provide them with value. Turning this value proposition into a marketing message is the trick that you should master to be very successful.

Be Friends With Your Publisher

Friends like doing things for other friends. And the best time to guarantee you will end up writing published books is either before writing them, or while you are writing them.

Go to places and meetings where publishers hang out. Get introductions into inner cirlces of the publishing network. And when you meet a publisher, be friendly. Not fawning, not flattering, by friendly.

When you have established relationships with a publisher already, before you even have a manuscript ready to submit, you are on the winning team - even before the game starts!

Be Persistent

It's easy to give up - and fail. You cannot afford to give up. Even if it takes many years to find a publisher, if you refuse to accept defeat, you will win through. And often, the reward is worth the wait - and more.

Decide when you write a book that it will end up as one of the published books that year - or the next. Take action based on a plan to make sure you get on the list of published books. Do all you can to ensure your book gets published. And then, use that experience, platform and network to get all the rest of your books published too.
