We all remember sitting around in our high school English class, studying books and concepts that probably seemed extremely boring at the time. I think back to that time in my life and am somewhat amazed that I managed to pass. So it's a bit of a surprise to some who knew me back then that I run a very successful eBook publishing company. But it still begs the question -- can people who didn't do well in high school English make money on the Internet publishing eBooks? The answer is a resounding yes.
You have to realize that there's a big difference between being an eBook author and publisher. When you're just getting started, it's not that unusual to wear both hats. Not only do you author the electronic book, but you also are the individual who is responsible for publishing and marketing it. However, it's also true that you can buy the rights to an already-existing publication and give it a new name and start marketing it. How much writing skill do you need to do that? In my opinion, not much. That's how I got started. I bought the rights to an already existing eBook. I then made some minor modifications to it so that it would be under my pen name and under a new title that I invented for it. In a matter of days, I had published my first title and was well on my way to making money in this business.
Not everyone is ready to be in this business. The most important quality that you need to make money on the Internet selling eBooks has nothing to do with English class. It has more to do with an ability to overcome challenges. If you're convinced you can't make money in this business because you have the equivalent of an 8th grade education, then you're probably not going to make it. But if you have the attitude that you can find ways around your problems, then the sky is the limit. Remember, you don't actually have to author the electronic books that you end up publishing and marketing. So who cares if you can't write too well?
