Review Sites - Why Would You Waste Your Time Like That?

There's no denying the popularity of review sites. It all started, as far as I recall anyway, with Chris Rempels conduit method. These days reviewing Amazon products seems the way to go.

Why do people create these sites?

Well, they are low maintenance and promise to bring in passive income. Income that will fill your pockets for a long time.

So, that promise should be worth spending a few hours creating them. Unfortunately, those few hours are more likely to be the better part of a week. Yeah! That's right! To create a review site you will need to spend most of the week doing so.

Why?

Well, if you intend to create good, solid reviews (which you should!) you will need to do several things.

  1. You need to acquire the product (either by buying it or getting a review product).
  2. Then you will need to at the very least go through the material in the product.
  3. Finally, you will need to actually write the review.

Now, that might sound like such a big deal, but it usually means spending at least a couple of hours on each review. Considering that any decent review site needs at least 10 reviews, preferably more, it adds up pretty fast!

In other words, there goes your week!

I have experienced this first hand. And it made me sick!

I thought long and hard about the concept of review sites. In fact, I was pretty much ready to bin the idea. Then it dawned on me!

It's all about positioning!

As a reviewer you have to actually review the product right? What if you create a review site without reviewing the products? OK. I know that doesn't seem to make sense.

What you need to do is think about yourself as a reporter!

Oprah has turned the concept into a multi-gazillion business. Surely lowly marketers like you and I can turn some profit from that same method.

Now, before you start wondering how you're going to get your own show on TV let's just stop for a minute. The concept is simple. All you need to do is report on the products. That means giving your readers facts and other peoples opinions about the products.
