Internet Marketers Responsibility

This article has been prompted as a result of an Internet Marketer making over $570,000 and bragging about it openly and then not delivering the goods!...

Firstly, I want you to know that most marketers that I have dealt with over the years have dealt with me with integrity and utmost honesty, however a small handful out of many thousands have not afforded me with the courtesy of respect that one should have, as you will see about one particular case when reading below:

I believe that a marketer has a big responsibility to his/her customers and when a customer is spending valuable money by purchasing eBooks, software, tutorial courses and anything else that hard earned money will buy, the marketer should make sure that all avenues of satisfaction towards the buyer should be met with diligence and in a priority fashion. This also really applies to those that give away free IM products as the marketer has a responsibility to develop a good strait forward relationship that can be relied upon by the newbie and for that matter the experienced marketer.

Being Ignored Really Makes Me - ANGRY!

There is nothing worse than being used and abused by, being totally ignored by a marketer after having bought one of his products. Being ignored just plain smacks of the marketer being out for a quick buck! Obviously his Internet marketing business will be short lived with this attitude to his buyers; however that doesn't help you right now. The really unfortunate thing is that with the current financial climate, quick buck making appears to be on the increase.

Lately, I have received an unusual amount of comments (more like moans) from marketers who are becoming concerned about the amount of so called 'Gurus' selling lots of high powered software and marketing systems which quite often do not work or has a limited life span due to the lack of integrity of the software/system against the search engines own powerful software stopping it from working effectively enough to warrant the purchase in the first instance.

I Want You To Learn from My Experience...

So having heard of some not so good story's from a few marketers. I thought I would share my own experience with you about what happened to me in recent weeks rather than repeat what other marketers have told me as I do not have access to all of their facts. Also I would rather share my own misgivings than give you a second hand story:

Early January of this year I received an email from a reasonably well known Internet marketer and the software he was selling seemed to fit what my business partner and I was trying to do with one of our newly to be launched sites.

I purchased the marketing software in anticipation of using it a few weeks later. After a few weeks had elapsed it was decided between me and my business partner to set up this software to start to use it. Unfortunately the software did not work.

Obviously with the software not working I contacted the marketer seller by email asking why it wouldn't work (as you do!). After a few days and no reply from eight emails to all his known email addresses I decided to investigate further. To cut a long story short, I was able to communicate with the software creator who informed me that the software contained a trigger when being opened and it had been automatically disabled by them to stop its use. It appeared that the marketer had failed to pay them their share of the sales revenue.

Make Sure You Know the Clickbank Rules

The software creator advised me to contact Clickbank to get a refund...

Well big mistake on my part! The Clickbank rules are that it only allows up to 60 days for a refund to be made and I requested the refund on day 62. Clickbank can create a refund outside of the 60 day limit if authorised by the original software vendor. No chance of that as he doesn't answer any emails I send him!

My Big Mistake - Never to Be Repeated

My mistake was that the software was not tested as soon as it was purchased and resulted in me losing a few dollars. The lesson to be learnt is: make sure that it works right away so that should there be any problems then you can get it sorted out or at least get a refund.

Let this be a lesson to those of you who are experienced marketers or just entering into the realms of Internet marketing for the first time. If you buy a product from one of the Internet millionaire guru's, make sure you've got what you bought and it's working the way it is purported to do.

The Really Sad Thing Is...

The marketer concerned has sold some great products in the past and I have actually bought four products from him over the last sixteen months. And that is what really makes me angry about the whole affair.

DO NOT FALL INTO THE SAME TRAP! Always make sure that you look after your customers or you will ultimately fail.

Will I ever deal with the marketer again - NO and nor will my list of customers - his big loss!

The News Gets Worse...

The one thing I didn't say earlier is that the software license was for LIFE so even if it was working initially, it would still result in a loss to me today!

My lesson has been learned. So you can teach an old dog new tricks!

I'll just deal with my old mate Armand Morin in future as he has never let me down.

Regards to all you newbie's and experienced that have taken the time to read this post. And don't forget to learn from this bad experience.
