There are webmasters who are doing paid advertisements with Google Adwords but they are staying away from the content network probably because of sad experiences or just plainly wrong beliefs. They probably aren't sure of how to use the content network effectively or they are afraid of losing money.

The content network requires a different kind of approach from that of the search network. If you are already in this type (the search network), then it can be a good experience and you will already have gained insights on how Google Adwords paid advertisements work.

It is best to separate doing paid ads on the search network and that of the content network. If you are through with your ads on the search network and have already results at hand you can then try to experiment on the content network and then base your decisions on where to focus your ads on after the experimentation’s.

You can start out with your chosen list of websites, but the most important factor to consider is the relevance of these sites to yours or the products you offer.

Then you can start to bid for keywords but you can start out very low per click, then run your ads for a couple of days and analyze the performance afterwords.

Depending on how your ads perform, you can make adjustments if really needed.

To be more effective in your paid ads with Google Adwords on the content network, you can use the following strategies:

•You can start out your campaign on the content network by doing simultaneously placements of two or more campaigns placements of two or more campaigns on the same ad category.

Have different sets of keywords in these ads but always remember to start with low bids in order to preserve somewhat your ad budget.

•Bid on the lower ranked keywords and don't bother for those high ranked ones because your prospects are not those active searchers anyway. Have two or more ads of these cheaper keywords and run these simultaneously.

•Try to add your brand in the ads that you make in the content network. Include this in your ad copy and we will never know and it may just work anyway.

The content network is literally shunned by more marketers because of the belief that you will just be throwing away your ad money and not getting better results. The search network for them is the better one because of its known effectiveness of getting hordes of traffic.

But if you really have the intent on getting revenues from paid advertisement with Google Adwords, it may just be right to try again this method. The content network is relatively cheaper anyway, because you can bid low and you don't have to target the higher ranked keywords.
