Email Marketing Secrets - How to Beat the Trend and Increase Your Open Rates and Sales

Tip #1: Write Unique, Specific Subject Lines
With email clutter becoming more prevalent, it's becoming even more important to write a unique subject line that grabs the eyeballs and 'forces' readers to open your email. Study headlines from newspapers and magazines to get a feel of headlines that work. What works there will most likely in email marketing too. Make sure your subject lines are specific too. Instead of writing $100, write a real, specific number like $152, which will get more attention. Of course, you can't just put in any fake number. The numbers have to be real.
Tip #2: Add Your Link In Early
One common mistake that email marketers make is adding in their link way down in their email, below the fold, where people can't see it unless they scroll down. Only a small percentage of people actually use the scroll button in the browser, so most of your subscribers are not clicking through to the links if you do that. The trick is to add the link in early, either after your first line or paragraph. This will maximize your click through rates.
Tip #3: Give Away More Valuable Content
Hard pitching is working less and less. This does not mean you cannot pitch products once in a while, but it does mean that you have to give away more valuable content in your emails. Give away more quality articles, free reports, audio, video tutorials and other free gifts to your list.
