One of the most popular sayings in folklore is that 'Knowledge is power'. I like to think that knowledge is money, provided you take action on that knowledge. You see, knowledge means nothing if 1) The knowledge is useless or trivial (i.e. Paris Hilton's next adventure, although interesting, doesn't relate to your business or your life) or 2) You don't take action on useful knowledge.
Someone can buy thousands of dollars of Internet marketing products and get nothing in return while one person can have success following just a few tactics. Why is that the case? The answer is focus. I find that people who have a goal and a strong desire often have no problem finding that focus. So the trick is to set a tangible goal (i.e. $3000 per month or $5000 per month) and work from there.
If you have a very strong desire to quit your job or create an extra $1000 monthly income stream, and then you create a plan around that goal, trust me, you are already ahead of 95% of people. So how do you work from that goal?
Let's say you have an initial goal of $3000 per month and you are selling a $100 product. You would only need 30 sales to reach that goal. And let's say you have an upsell that costs $300, you would probably need less than 30 sales of your initial front-end product to reach your target.
How do you get 30 sales per month? If your worse case scenario for a conversion rate is 1% (meaning 1 out of every 100 visitors to your site buys your product), you would need 3000 visitors to your site, which is about 100 visitors per day. Can you get 100 visitors per day if you follow these traffic generation techniques: article marketing, forum marketing, link exchanges, social networking, video marketing? I bet you could. 30 visitors from articles, 20 from forums, 20 from link exchanges, 20 from videos and 10 from social networks and you're on your way there.
Making money online is not as difficult as it looks. It all comes down to simple mathematics and working around them.
