As a mother and an entrepreneur, your time is precious. Between work and family, you want to make a success of everything. But, you can't do it alone. It will take the help of many others to keep you on track.

A support system is important in many arenas. In business, it can keep you honest, accountable, organized and focused on your goals. Many mompreneurs have made a success of their businesses in just that way.

If you want to turn your business and your family life into the best it can be, here are some tips.

Talk to your family

They are part of the reason that you are starting your business. Either you wanted to make extra money for the family or you wanted to do something for yourself that can show your family how they, too, can find success.

Let them know what your plan is and what it will take on your part and theirs to make it happen. They may have questions and concerns, so be ready. You will field no tougher questions than those asked by your family. But, unlike potential clients, they will give you unconditional love and support.

Join business groups in your niche

There are many other moms out there who are starting or have started successful business ventures. Get in contact with them through seminars, forums, blogs or conferences. Like attracts like. You want to network with others who are motivated and working for success just like you. Being influenced by other successful women can keep you hopeful that the hard early days will pass.

Create partnerships

Again, like minds attract like minds. Find other women who are in complementary niches and see what you can offer each other. This is the beginning of not only business partnerships but strong friendships.

Surround yourself with tough love

Each woman business owner needs a group of women who will tell them like it is. These can be business owners, moms, friends or mentors. Their stake in your life is that they want the best for you.

To that end, they will be the ones that you bounce ideas off of, talk over personal matters and cry to if need be. But, in the end their job is not to tell you what you want to hear but what you need to hear. They are the grass roots of your support network.

Don't be afraid to get rid of what doesn't work

To be a strong support, it has to be based on a firm foundation. Everyone that you let into your life needs to enhance it and not detract. Naysayers are out. They are no good for you or your business.

Mompreneurs need a strong support system to make it work at home and in business. Here are a few tips to help you create your own tight-knit group.
