Finding a market that is thirsty for products is the first step to really striking it rich through affiliate marketing. To put it simply, with a market that is 'active' and 'hot', it is much easier for you to succeed and to get sales. So how do you find this thirsty market for your business?

There are a few places online where you can conduct some covert research to determine this:

1. Clickbank

Take a look at the Clickbank Categories in the marketplace and see what people are spending money on. Look for products that solve a common problem. These are the hot markets where money is flowing in.

2. Amazon

If there is a best selling book on the topic, it usually means there is money to be made in the niche. Also, look at magazines and look at the ads in the magazines if you can (another alternative to Amazon is Barnes And Noble). See what products are being sold in the ads.

3. Google Trends

Google Trends is one way to stay ahead of trends (pardon the pun). Take advantage of the hottest search trends right at this moment by creating a quick Adwords campaign or building a new blog on the topic.

4. Keyword Tools

Keyword tools like Wordtracker and the Adwords keyword suggestion tool can be very useful for finding niches to attack. Always use them whenever you want to find new niches to mine.
