Browsing the ClickBank marketplace for the first time can be complicated. Many new Clickbank affiliates find the information in the Clickbank Marketplace puzzling and confusing. There numerous stats to decipher and most aren't self-explanatory.

Interpreting all these different stats can really help you make knowledgeable decisions on what products to promote and what products to pass on.

Here's what each of these stats mean.

==> Gravity

Gravity is the most crucial stat and the most often used stat for getting a basic idea of whether or not to promote a product.

Gravity is calculated by using data gathered from the last 3 months. It's determined by how many affiliates are promoting the products and how many sales they've made. The more sales and the more affiliates, the higher the gravity.

More recent sales are given more weight. This can help you identify which products are hot at the moment, but can also give you a good idea on what's more competitive to promote.

==> Average $ Per Sale

This stat is one of the most important numbers for determining payout. How much money will you make on average per sale, after rebills are added in and refunds taken out.

==> Average $ Per Initial Sale

How much money will you earn on average in the initial sale, after refunds are subtracted? This is the same as the average $ per sale if it's a one-time billing product.

It's much better to use either average $/sale or initial $/sale to determine your earnings, rather than dividing the product amount by the commission percentage. Refunds and chargebacks are a very real consideration with informational products.

==> Average % per Sale

Your commission rate, taking the commission on in initial product as well as all subsequent upsells and rebill commissions into consideration as well.

==> Average Rebill Total

How much money on average a customer will spend on a recurring billing product.

==> Average Rebill %

Your commission on the rebills. Usually merchants will pay a higher commission on the initial sale than on rebill products. So its a good idea to find merchants that do offer higher rebill commissions, because much of the money is actually made on the rebills rather than on the initial product sale.

==> Applying the Data

So how do you apply these stats? And, what do you actually mean when selecting your product?
In general, you want to find products that have moderately high gravities, about 20 to 80 gravity. Naturally, the more the product pays the higher your chances of making money promoting it.
Keep in mind, that no matter how good the numbers look, you always need to review and research the products thoroughly.
