Is Article Marketing Still Effective After Panda?

I get a lot of questions from my subscribers about this topic - how has my article marketing fared since panda? -- and - isn't article marketing less effective than it used to be?

And I always get around to this issue: how do you define article marketing?

You see, if you define article marketing as paying someone $3 to write a 250 word bombshell, then spin it 100 times to trick google, then put it one 100 different websites to get backlinks . . . sure, article marketing doesn't work anymore.

Because that's what Panda got rid of.

The search results are a lot more clean now. If you are searching for information about something, you are much more likely to get relevant information, not just some spun article.

If you define article marketing as writing a strong article about something newsworthy or educational (like hopefully you perceive THIS article), and you post it to ONE place and you tell a few people about it, or even a few people link to it because they like it, and it is new, unique, relevant content -- then your article is likely to show up in the search results of google if someone searches for something relevant in the article.

In fact, it is MORE likely to show up in google NOW because the search results aren't flooded with a bunch of spun articles.

So I guess it all has to do with how you define article marketing.

Sometimes people ask me, what have you changed since Panda?

Nothing.

Why not?

Because I have always built my business around the idea of an evergreen business, one that would stand the test of time. And I predicted long before Panda that google would find a way to get rid of all the duplicate and spun content. And I was right. So I have always built my article marketing business in such a way that it would give users (and google) what they want. Google wants content for their users. And users want real content.

I don't write for robots online. I don't know what the keyword percentage is in this article. I don't care. It's irrelevant. I write for humans, not robots.

Here's the thing - if you do article marketing the way google wants you to - better yet, you do article marketing not as "article marketing" but instead as writing informative articles for real people to read and enjoy, then you can probably get better results with article marketing now than before.

I do the same things in article marketing as I did 5 years ago, my traffic is about the same per article, and my CTR is actually higher because I have split test for the best resource box (and the one below isn't it.)
