So they have found your squeeze page and they have opted in to your list. The very next page that they see after they have done this is an important one and it is a great time to sell to them.

Great – but what do you sell to them and how do you create a one time offer that actually converts people into buyers?

1. Make sure your offer is relevant

One of the single biggest reasons why upsells or one time offers fail to have a good conversion rate is that the offer is not related to what is being offered on the squeeze page. If your free gift on your squeeze page is about Twitter strategies then make sure your upsell or one time offer is related to it too. You know that they are interested in the subject otherwise they wouldn’t have chosen to subscribe.

2. Offer the ‘advanced’ version
I really like this strategy and it is very effective. Give people a more in-depth or advanced version of the offer on your squeeze page. Let’s say your freebie is a report detailing how to set up a blog. A great upsell would be an offer to do it for them. In return for payment you will upload and set up their blog for them (using the method in your report.) An upsell such as this can be really popular because people have got excited about the promises made on your squeeze page and now you’re telling them that if they buy from you they won’t even have to lift a finger to achieve. People are naturally lazy, so use it your advantage and make money.

3. Make sure you give more than you ask for in payment
Give people an outrageous offer. Make it such that they absolutely can’t refuse it. This can either be by offering a really low price or by piling on the value. Always give more than the amount you are asking for. Do this and not only will you have a one time offer that converts but you’ll get the relationship with your new subscriber off to a great start. If they buy your upsell and LOVE it then they will be highly likely to buy from you again in the future when they receive offers as a subscriber to your list.

4. Get straight to the point
Many people are very used to one time offers. When they opt-in they are expecting to see one, so make sure the main point of your offer is really obvious. Use your headline to grab their attention. If they are interested they will read on a little to find out more about your offer.
