Opt-in forms are used to let people subscribe to your newsletters and promotional offers. There are two types of opt-in lists. The first one is called single opt-in lists where people on the internet visits the webpage using an opt-in form and enters the required information to finally submit the details. Once this is done, the email address will be added to the email address list which will later receive promotional emails. The second type of opt-in form or opt-in list is double opt-in list where the customer enters his personal details and submits it to the website. Once this is done, they will be asked to confirm their subscription by clicking a particular link. This link is usually sent to the subscriber through an email. After confirming the subscription, another email is sent which contains free gifts or discounts. Using the second method of opt-in list is recommended by many experts. The reason for this is that if you use double opt-in list, there is little chance for the email you send to end up in the spam folder.
