Now that you have written the literary masterpiece that is your eBook, the only question left to answer is how to get it into the hands of the people who want to read it. It isn't like you can call the local newspaper and pay for an ad flier in the Sunday Times, so how do you reach your target audience? What does eBook marketing entail?

For starters, since eBooks are digital and they are primarily available only on the Internet it stands to reason that you should look into eBook marketing ideas that focus on the Internet as a primary medium.

Email solicitations are one of the most lucrative business marketing techniques that have ever been used on the Internet. Unfortunately they have a terrible reputation because so many unrequested solicitations (known commonly as "spam") are received in email boxes every day. While many of these emails are automatically deleted, there are ways to use email as a marketing tool for your eBook and actually get positive results.

Opt-In Mailing Lists

If you have a web site, you need to set out to create an opt-in mailing list for newsletters and other bits of useful information that are pertinent to your target audience. These lists are one of the best marketing tools that you've got but you need to ensure that you do not spam your list, lest you be piled into the emailers mentioned in the last paragraph.

For eBook marketing, email is still one of the easiest ways to get the word out about your eBook so long as you are careful to only send email that is clear and contains useful information to the people who are interested in the types of products and services that your eBook applies to.
