1. Write to them like you are actually talking to them on the phone or face to face.
2. Make sure that when you do write your emails, that your paragraphs are not too long. Some gurus say that you should have 5-6 lines. I think it should be more like 3-4 lines.
3. Show your subscribers that you really care. Tell them a little about you. Bring is some emotions into your writing. Don't be all about business. Try to recommend a product instead of selling one like a pushy salesman.
4. Just because you are giving away free content to your list, don't make the mistake to always give them that. Yes, you want to provide great value and lots of free content but at the end of the day, you want to make money. There are some great leaders out there who give out free content in each email but also some sort of a link at the end of each email so at the same time it doesn't look like a sales pitch at all.
5. A lot of GURUS out there say that in order to do well with email marketing, you must allow your subscribers to double opt in to your list. That is not true at all. For years I have been using single opt ins and did very well.
