Diversity Is Key
Someone new to the Google AdWords program would typically want to test the AdWords waters by purchasing only a single keyword for starters. There is almost always an instinctive reluctance to risk more than the cost of a single keyword. The problem with this, however, is that there is nothing to compare your success or failure against. It is always best to purchase at least two or three keywords right from the start. This way, you can determine which of them works best and then focus on refining that particular one.
Having said that, keep in mind that AdWords tips are only effective if you have chosen the right keyword or combination of keywords. Take some time, sit down and have a keyword brainstorming session where you make a list of all keywords that could even remotely apply to your website. Then download a keyword search tool and figure out which keywords are more often used by people searching the internet. All the AdWords tips would not do you any good if you choose keywords that very few internet readers are interested in.
