If Google Adwords is giving you headaches, then you need to know that Google Adwords is not the only way to get targeted traffic to your website.

1. Document sharing.
Create Powerpoint presentations and/or articles and submit them to websites such as slideshare.net, docstoc.com, scribd.com, etc...those websites have millions of unique monthly visitors, so you are putting your content in front of a "built in market" so to speak.
2. Youtube Videos.
Create short, keyword-rich videos & upload them to Youtube with optimized titles & descriptions. Then make sure to include a link to your website right under the video.
There is also an option on Youtube where you can have a "video ad," and Youtube is much more lenient than Google (even though Google own Youtube).
3. Banner ads.
