Lead Generation Primer - Should You Be Generating Leads For Your Internet Business?

I realize that the phrase 'generating leads' sounds very much like an insurance agent in the eighties so let's call it something else - a mailing list. In fact, if you do nothing more than provide the opportunity for your web site visitors to sign up for your mailing list, the odds are in your favor that at least 10% of them will do so with no further effort on your part. That mailing list is generating leads. If you use it to send regular newsletters and correspondence with your readership, you are increasing your visibility and raising your profitability at the same time. That's a far cry from selling insurance, would you not agree?
On to the question of whether or not you should be generating leads let me just say that if your website is one that for Ives upon repeat traffic and you have any interest in building an ongoing relationship with your visitors, I strongly urge you to do so.
