The reality is that yes, google doesn't like duplicate content.
But there is a way to make it work for you. I will show this by way of an example.
I will use the website dvd-to-ipad-software.com. (This site belongs to me.)
In promoting this site, I wanted to find a good way to get traffic and improve by ranking in the search engines. So, I decided to write some "how to" articles that I could publish online using ezinearticles.com. The dilemma I faced was that I wanted the articles that I wrote to be on my website as well as ezinearticles so that I could get some good content credit from Google as well as backlinking credits from ezinearticles and of course traffic from ezinearticles.
I wanted my cake and eat it too!
Well this is how I did it:
1 I put the articles onto my website. dvd-to-ipad-software.com/articles.html
2 I waited until the articles were indexed, then
3 I published them on ezinearticles.
THE SECOND STEP IS ESSENTIAL!
If you do it this way, Google will recognise the content as yours, but you still get the powerful one-way backlinks and traffic from ezinearticles.
It is WIN-WIN!
