Can You Really Grow Your List And Income With Traffic Exchange Websites?

Before I begin this article, I just want to say that I am not about to name any websites or the companies due to the fact that they don't deserve their names to be mentioned here.
The real truth of the matter is that if you want to grow your income and your list through traffic exchange sites then you are just going to waste your time and money with them.
I can back up my statement here because I have tried a few of them in the past with zero results. I was advertising my opt in page on some pay per click and other high traffic work at home websites and got a consistent flow of leads and sales.
Then I took the same ads and the same opt in page and tried to use traffic exchange sites because one of the gurus online has recommended them for years now. I am not going to mention his name here although I would love to.
The result is:
Zero leads and zero sales with over 1000 visitors that I got from them in a matter of a few days. Note that I already tried these ads and opt in page before on PPC and it still works like a charm even today.
The problem with these "traffic" sites is that everyone there who clicks on your ads, do so because they want to get more credits so that others will view their site or what ever they are selling too. So, I believe, 100% of these people don't have the intention to join you or what ever you are offering.
If your "guru", in what ever program that you are in, tells you that they are using this strategy, then they are lying to you. They are only using that program because that traffic exchange site will promote for them too. It is a back and forth lead and sales generation. Kind of like " I will promote for you if you promote for me".
