You need to set goals when it comes to marketing your online business. Goal setting is something that is definitely recommended if you want to see your business dreams come true. I know you have the fantasy of waking up in the morning and seeing lots of sales in your email inbox on a daily basis. But this dream won't happen until you take care of the smaller goals first.

One of the "smaller" goals that you need to set first are goals related to traffic generation. Traffic is something that alot of online businesses eagerly seek, but fail to get. Luckily, getting traffic isn't hard to do. You should set up a daily regimen of getting traffic that you can stick to easily.

For example, on Monday you can focus strictly on cheap advertising methods. On Tuesday you can do forum marketing and article marketing. On Wednesday you could do video marketing (Youtube) and search engine optimization. On Thursday you can write a press release and add new autoresponder messages.

On Friday you can create a free viral ebook and promote it on all the free ebook directories. On Saturday you can start your own affiliate program and submit your affiliate sign up page to all the affiliate directories. And then on Sunday, you can rest, so you can start the marketing cycle all over again on Monday.

See how easy this can be for you? By the way, I use all of these methods in my business, and they work very well for me. So I know that they can work for you too. Even though this is a viable marketing strategy, I think you need to learn how to turn all of these internet marketing strategy into an overall goal.

Start with short term goals first. You can set a goal to make 5 posts every week on a forum. Or to write 1 article per day. Or to create a new video for Youtube everyday. Or to create a new email letter for your autoresponder everyday. Or to focus on search engine optimization every few days.

Start small with goals like these, then when you start to see results from your efforts, put these strategies on overdrive. Go hard with your internet marketing, and then continue to put out new content and run more ads so that you can feed your system that has been proven to get you new leads and sales.

They say the path to 1000 steps starts with a single step. Similarly... the path to online business success begins with starting with 1 internet marketing strategy. The more strategies you implement, the more traffic you will receive, and the more sales you will get when your leads convert into customers.

Goal setting is essential to your online marketing success. Whether you map out your goals on a sheet of paper, on your laptop, or on an elaborate graph on a poster... a goal is a goal. And goals that get acted upon usually produce successful results. So keep this in mind as you market your online business.
