You're going to read a lot of things that seem familiar in this guide and some of them - tried and true methods that marketers have been using for years to make money online.
But this isn't just another rehash of the same tired content. This is something different and while there are certainly some similarities (as there are in any IM training articles), there are also a huge number of differences. Things I've done differently that have worked exceptionally well for me.
At the top of the list is finding a hot trend to call your own.
Google has basically said in no unspoken terms that they will not reward people who game the system. That means 99% of the strategies we once used to get a page to number 1 in the SERPS in a month don't work anymore.
But, there is a hole in their strategy.
They may not reward people for blasting them with backlinks, but they also can't stop people from hitting on top trends.
No matter how smart the Google algorithm gets, it also gets a little dumber as the pull of popular opinion forces it to consider topics and subjects that are rising in the rankings.
If there is suddenly a huge interest in information about a hot children's toy and there are only five websites with matching keywords in the domain for that toy, the odds are that 3, 4 or all 5 of those sites will be on page one for that toy.
It's a hot topic. Google wants to capitalize on those hot topics.
The big difference between now and 18 months ago is that if you tried to launch a web site with 3 pages of content and 10,000 backlinks before, it would have drowned your website in traffic.
Hot topic, hot keywords, lots of traffic. It was a simple strategy. I called it cash in my pockets.
Today, that doesn't work quite as well.
Google knows the signs of a site that took 20 minutes to build and will actively try not to index it on page one solely because it has a keyword matching domain and a bunch of anchor text backlinks.
In modules 2-5 I am going to show you the techniques I use to get these sites noticed just as fast as I would have in the pre-Panda days and in some cases much faster, and how I can keep those sites ranked highly in Google longer and more safely than ever before.
