The more you learn about internet marketing, the more you will discover a wide range of traffic strategies that just don't work. You will see alot of people proclaiming that these techniques still work, and that they get alot of traffic and sales from them each and every day, but they say this just to get you to purchase a product that they're trying to sell - without any concern about your success.

There are some things that you will want to stay away from when it comes to marketing your online business. These things are ineffective, and won't do you any good if you're trying to make a nice living online. In fact, let's jump straight into the heart of the matter. Here's the first traffic strategy that doesn't work:

1) Classified advertising sites

99% of the classified advertising sites are useless. They are typically filled with online business owners looking to plug their new product. But you should know that no targeted visitor arrives on these sites. In fact, you will more than likely get more results from offline classified advertising than you will with online classified advertising.

Now admittedly, in the distant past, classified advertising was an effective strategy for getting you more new traffic. But now, it is just totally ineffective. But like most things, there is an exception to this rule. There are 2 classified advertising sites that work really well for getting you more sales for your internet business.

These 2 sites are "Craigslist", and "Ebay Classifieds". If you sell physical products (not information products), then you can stand to make some good income on these sites. Everyday people flock towards these sites looking for things to buy. And if you have the right product, your product will more than likely sell.

Here's another technique that you will want to stay away from.

2) Spamming

I still can't believe that people try to do this. What they do is purchase a large email list, and then put them into their email blasting software, and send out spam emails to people on the list. Needless to say, this strategy is ineffective, and you can get into alot of trouble if you choose to use this strategy.

Don't buy email lists, and don't spam anybody. The effort that you put into spamming people can be used to build a legitimate website business. Most of the people spamming like this are looking for a quick buck. But most end up wasting their money, and put themselves at risk from being banned from the internet.

These 2 internet marketing strategies shouldn't be used and aren't effective for getting you the sales and profits that you are looking for. If you want to have alot of success in your internet business, you will want to ignore strategies like these, and just stick with techniques that are proven to work time and time again.

Seek out effective ways to promote your products, and you will be good to go when it comes to marketing your online business.

Good luck with avoiding these 2 strategies in your business today.
