3 Mistakes Online Business Owners Make With Their Business Cards

Do you ever use business cards to promote your online business? I do. I got a great deal from Vista Print for a stack of personally designed business cards, for a very small price. But beyond this, you should know that you can effectively market yourself online with business cards. Just don't make the obvious mistakes.

And speaking of obvious mistakes with your business card, in today's lesson, I want to share with you some of the most common mistakes that people make with their business card, and how you can avoid these mistakes and put together a card that is producing more sales for you automatically online. Here's mistake number 1:

1) Leaving the back empty

You should never do this. Most people actually do look at the back of the card to see if there is anything on there. In my opinion, I think you should include testimonials from your past customers and clients, so that you can get an instant surge of credibility to your name. This is very important.

Along with including testimonials on the back of the card, you should also restate your website information and offer (or free offer) so that you can make it easy for them to see what it is that you have for sale. The bottom line is that they already know "what the deal is". So be a straight shooter on your business card, and you will be good to go. Here's another mistake that people make with their card:

2) Not having an offer

If you simply have a business card for the sake of having one, then what good is it going to do for you is you distribute them out to people? With no offer on your card, people won't know what you're good at or what you do for a living. They also won't know if you have something that they may want, or if they should even keep your card.

Don't create a business card and leave it blank. Do yourself a favor and include an offer on everything that you send out and promote. You should include an offer on your business card, on your stationary, in your direct mail letters, on your website, inside of your email autoresponder signature, and even in the articles that you write. Don't market for no reason... encourage your potential prospects to visit your site to see what you have to offer.

Here's another mistake people make with their card:

3) Not offering multiple means of response

If you just have a website or only a phone number or only a fax number on your business card, your card is doomed from the start. Be sure to include all of your contact information on your card. Include your name, email, phone number, cell number, mailing address, and even your fax number.

You don't want to get a good potential prospect and lose them because you don't have the contact option that they would most want you to have. So keep this in mind.

These 3 business card mistakes are things that you will want to avoid if you want to have the most success as possible in your internet business. Avoid them starting today.

Good luck with promoting your website via postcards.
