If you didn’t already know, traffic is king online. You could have the prettiest website, the most content, a good product, and a good backend selling cycle. But if you don’t have the traffic to get you your first initial customer, how do you plan on succeeding online? This is something that is very important in the world of online business.

This isn’t like offline marketing where location is everything. Sure these offline business owners use strategies like direct mail, newspaper advertising, classified ads, advertorials, yellow pages, and etc… they still get a HUGE amount of customers and clients that simply walk in to their business because they saw it in a popular shopping center.

In the online world, there’s paid advertising that you can do, and search engine marketing is kind of the “location, location, location” of the online world. But the major search engines come up with different algorithms that change how each site is individually ranked. So one day you may have the number 1 spot on Google for your main keyword term, then 2 days later an algorithm change could land you on the third page of Google.

It’s important not to put all of your eggs into one basket, so vary your marketing and traffic efforts. You should put yourself on a daily schedule for what you’re going to do each day to market your website. There are a ton of things that you can do. For example, here’s a sample daily marketing procedure that you could follow:

MONDAY: Advertise on Google Adwords and Bing Ads
TUESDAY: Do forum marketing and article marketing
WEDNESDAY: Create new content for your website and optimize around certain keywords
THURSDAY: Create a podcast and create a video for Youtube
FRIDAY: Make 1 blog post and ping the blog search engine services
SATURDAY: Write 1 press release and submit to the free press release directories
SUNDAY: Take a break. Don’t burn yourself out

A plan like this will help you to stay on track and see results from your marketing efforts. You will know what you need to do each day to earn more money in your business, and how to remain efficient when it comes to marketing. Marketing your website online isn’t hard. If you can remain diligent and remain confident in what you are doing, there’s no reason why success can’t be your’s.

If you feel that you can change the sample schedule that I’ve listed for you and make it better, then by all means do so. The harder you go with your marketing efforts, the sooner your will start making sales. This is especially true with free marketing. If you use paid advertising, then you could start getting traffic right away.

But don’t overlook free marketing. There are people getting great results with their free marketing efforts and are earning a nice living online. You can do the same too if you put your mind to it.

Take these traffic techniques and use them in your online business today.

Good luck with marketing your website online.
