Are you a beginner in the world of internet marketing? If so you will benefit from the advice shared in this article. There are alot of things that you can do wrong with your internet marketing efforts, and this article will touch on a few of these things for you. In fact here’s the first thing that you don’t want to do when marketing your website.

1) Relying on one traffic source

Relying on just one source of traffic is the best way to see your results limited. If you want to increase your website traffic, it’s best to do a collaboration of techniques that will yield you the best results. Alot of times when beginners start out, they just rely on advertising to bring them the traffic that they’re looking for. This is fine, but what happens when you run out of advertising money? All of a sudden your website traffic is stopped and you don’t have the money to continue in business.

This is why it’s best to do a mirage of different techniques. You may want to integrate some free methods into the mix to get started. You can use free traffic sources such as article marketing, video marketing, seo, and even forum marketing. And speaking of forum marketing, here’s another mistake that beginners make.

2) Forum spamming

Don’t ever do this. The only thing that you want to do on the forums is be helpful. When advertising on the forums, just give helpful information. Leave your advertising message to your signature line. This is where you will want to share information with the members of the forum. The problem with forum spamming is that number 1, you will get banned. And number 2, it’s does no one any good.

It does you no good because your marketing message will get ignored, and it does the members no good because they don’t get anything helpful from your spamming message. So don’t spam on the forums. Instead give helpful advice and you will see that your rewards will be great in the end. Here’s another mistake that beginners make.

3) Not analyzing PPC efforts

I said above that one mistake that beginners make is just relying on one source of traffic to get visitors to their website. Well usually this one source of traffic is pay per click marketing, and if you’re going to do it, then do it right.

If you’re doing pay per click and are wondering why you aren’t seeing the sales that you should be seeing, then more than likely it could be because you’re not paying attention to how much your spending on your campaign. If you find that 10 cents a click isn’t pulling in the sales that you want, switch to 5 cents a click and analyze the results you get from that. Pay per click can become extremely addictive but if you want the upper hand with it, you will have to monitor your campaigns.

Don’t make these mistakes with your internet business. Instead be different and diversify your marketing efforts.

Good luck with marketing your website.
