If you’re doing paid advertising, then you know that this is the fastest way to get traffic to your website. One of my favorite ways to drive traffic to my site is with pay per click advertising (PPC). You will hear this term being used all the time on the internet. This is a venue that can make you alot of money, all while you hangout with your friends and family enjoying your time.

Now there are 2 major players in the pay per click game. There’s “Google Adwords”, and “Bing Ads”. By far Google Adwords is larger, but Bing Ads is a combination of Bing and Yahoo, so you will get good results here also - it all depends on how you structure your campaigns.

I like pay per click advertising because it allows me to test cheap. Whenever I want to test out a squeeze page, I run it through Adwords or Bing Ads to see if it’s effective. After that, I either decide to run an all out advertising campaign, or just switch to a different niche where I can get better results from.

Google Adwords is the best place to start. I’m confident that you’ve heard of it before, but its premise is simple. You run an ad, and it gets ranked on the sides of the natural search engine results, and you pay a small fee every time someone clicks on your ad. This is can either be a profitable proposition or a costly one.

With Google Adwords and pay per click in general, this is a marketing technique that can become extremely addictive. You can get good targeted traffic, and the quality is good. If you find that Adwords is too expensive, then migrate over to Bing Ads. No matter which option you choose (you should use both though), you can’t go wrong.

Now you will want to track your campaigns. Make sure you’re actually making money from your advertising efforts, and that the numbers make sense in your business. You will want to offset the costs of pay per click advertising with backend marketing and free marketing combined. Both involve getting more new sales for free.

With backend marketing, all you’re doing is selling to your existing customers. You don’t have to spend advertising on them anymore - they are all your’s for profiting at no cost. With free marketing, all you’re doing is leveraging multiple websites to get you free traffic back to your site.

Some of my favorite free traffic methods are: blogging, article marketing, article syndication, forums, SEO, podcasting, youtube, and even classified advertising. Free marketing takes a while to work, but when it’s at its peak, you will start to see the good results coming in like clockwork.

Pay per click advertising is easy and fun, and even better when you’re actually making money from it. If you can come up with a great campaign that can get you alot of targeted traffic, make sure you have a system in place that will allow you to convert your leads into customers.

Good luck with using pay per click advertising in your online business today.
