Bing will launch with ChatGPT in March

The integration of ChatGPT into Bing and the Edge browser has been announced by Microsoft to improve user experience and productivity.

Microsoft said today that it is integrating a new ChatGPT-like capability into its Bing search engine to give it cutting-edge AI capabilities.

At a private event focusing on its cooperation with OpenAI that was conducted at its Redmond headquarters today, Microsoft announced its plans for integrating ChatGPT.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also highlighted the significance of this feature:

“I think this technology is going to reshape pretty much every software category. “The race starts today,” and Microsoft is going to “move and move fast.”
The newest search experience, which Microsoft refers to as "your AI-powered copilot for the web," was previewed for event guests.

The new Bing, according to Nadella, would offer direct responses to queries and inspire users to be more imaginative. Nadella added that Bing's current search experience is inefficient because 40% of consumers click on search links before instantly clicking back.

A next-generation language model from OpenAI that has been specially modified for search needs powers the new Bing. It is even more effective than ChatGPT.

Edge browser update

Users can access the chat interface Microsoft introduced in Bing through Edge's sidebar functionality without going to the Bing website. Any webpage can interact with the interface while it is running beside it.

In a demo, the AI assistant in Edge was shown to be able to sum up a 15-page PDF with only one click and even convert a code sample from Stack Overflow into a different programming language.

Having the "AI co-pilot" feature of the Edge browser finish chores for you, like filling out forms and drafting emails, is another advantage.

Chime in,

This New A.I. Technology such as ChatGPT is becoming very popular. i am starting to see it everywhere. And i believe we are just at the beginning of its popularity. More and more people are beginning to use it for content on social media to free up time simplify things they do on a regular basis such as blogging, and making instagram and Facebook post. I see the popularity of this product reaching new height in the near future to enhance businesses on and offline.

OpenAI has not yet revealed the exact business model for ChatGPT, though it is likely to be centered around a subscription-based service. This could include customers paying a monthly fee for access to the platform, or for access to specific features or customization options. OpenAI could also consider a licensing model for companies or developers who want to use ChatGPT in their own products or services. Additionally, OpenAI may explore opportunities for monetizing applications that are built on the platform.

It'll be interesting to see Microsoft and OpenAI's pipeline for constantly updated real-time search ...

Their pipeline architecture probably involves:
  • Gathering fresh data from the Web and various sources;
  • Auto-annotating this data and auto-packaging it as a custom fine-tuning dataset;
  • Use this new custom dataset to fine-tune their latest model in the background while Bing continues to serve results;
  • Deploys the fine-tuned model; and
  • Repeat process and perform updates following really quick timelines ...
NOTE: In my opinion, this needs to happen really, really fast. They wouldn't want to serve outdated results, obviously ...

Obviously. Davinci, which is at the moment the largest, most performant model behind OpenAI's Chat GPT-3, was trained with huge data, though this data is only up to 2021; and

They of course wouldn't want to serve outdated info for users who need it, as mentioned above.

As for questions in this thread regarding OpenAI's business model — They're at the moment charging a pay-as-you-go price per API call (I started using this months ago for programmatic applications); and

They also have an enterprise subscription, which I think Microsoft would fit in nicely, especially as they put in $10B recently in OpenAI.

This seems all nice and innovative, but what about the user’s privacy? Are we still diving into users' data or moving the train toward promoting confidentiality?

What about user privacy? What and where is violated?

Using AI as forum posts risks being banned from the forum. Just a caution....

Using AI for posts and threads is deceitful and disrespectful to other members. It's also pointless. A forum is a place for discussion and exchange of views - not for throwing chunks of computer-generated text at each other.

Gotta figure what's needed here is the right tool for the right slot.

*ahem*

Don't wanna posit musself as the vestibyool of all wisdom here, but prolly it pays to avoid bein' screwed whenevah you can.

Automation has considerabyool advantages.

Daily, I imbue muh ratty locks with L'Oreal Ad Powah c/o a hairdryah.

Back in the day, princesses summoned IRL slaves to waft fans.

The printin' press is a similarly dehumanizin' monstah, responsible for the demise of illiterate fkrs with access to nuthin' but frickin' Latin.

An' so it goes ... the switchout of the convenient for the impersnl.

Across generations of hoomans an' their cultural evolutions.

So I believe Frankie D hits on the intrinsic hitch point in this entire AI scheme.

Unless our next AI adventure is dom-style slavery, we gonna have IRL hooman issues.

I trust my hairdryah to bliss my follicletude into a decent shape, despite my hayer natchlly wants to look like a rat been peed on by a profeshnl pee-er.

An' what is printin' othah than transmission?

Now we at the point in our days when transmissible attention is kinda worth bein' concerned about, first stop on your concern list gotta be the CONTENT all eyeballs bein' summoned to devour.

Thing is, so much AI content is merely a dutiful replicant awaitin' revisions by Ms. Pernickety.

In its slavish-yet-sophisticated drudge, it lacks the capacity to make soulfully hooman combinations of import.

Or procreate without regurgitate.

2 things happen, next decade.

1) We find AI out, an' mustah its potential.

or

2) Nowan nevah trusts no forum like this ever'n again.

Narrative is generated by attention, so if'n you wanna go sumplace, it trooly mattahs what you lookin' at.

What were you evah hopin' for from yr first kiss?

SUMONE BACK.

I would wish for zero obstacles before the sweet stuffs of natchrl intimacy.

& yet we may evidence their ass outta convenience.

I guess this is an enablement of means vs an enslavement of results kinda dibayutt.

As your natchrl Princess, gotta tellya I cain't even cook straight, which don't zackly qualify me for nuthin'

But, hey — ain't that sumthin?

Lightin' fuses is for blowin' stuff togethah.

That's great news. It makes me very happy because it takes a lot of time to do some things that can be done automatically. I work in a company that develops the business of our clients. Namely, we come up with a name for future companies and come up with a whole promotion strategy for them. We are in a company that takes all the advantages of ChatGPT and name generator companies and I will say that we are very pleased that such projects exist. After all, thanks to them, we can automate some of our processes and make more money. It is interesting to see the second representative of AI from Microsoft. Imagine how they can work together.
