Automated AI to pull weekly weather forecasts for Hunting, Fishing, and Golf

Background: many moons ago, a friend, Pete Egler, published a monthly newsletter on hunting and fishing in TN.

I am interested in publishing a weekly newsletter about Hunting, Fishing and Golf with an emphasis on weather forecasts for all parts of US and Canada. I would want to pull feeds from several sources and have my AI organize it by region, to do most of the work, if not all of it for me...to be able to do this, what AI would you recommend, and are any of you currently pulling feeds for your content?

Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Gotta figure the whole plannit runs on per diction.

"Can we strip off outdoors without no strawb damage, but also our tan looks kinda sweet?"

Thing is, you gaht semblance of certainty in the maelstrom you way magnitter than the Zero Poles Crowd.

    My view is this:

Mebbe AI can enhance modellin' of all kinds -- an' likely ima prompt it sumday to address the thigh gap presently makin' Moi look like no prostitoot in certin jeeyins -- but models don't evah turn out 100% to be troo.

    Be like walkin' the plank.

So you gotta figure here nowan knows nuthin' for sure.

'Bout their huntin', fishin' & golfin' potenshwaals ...

beyond they would always get away weekend if'n they could ...

yeah mebbe it ain't gonna be perfect, but we can still have fun.

[See bcs I been watchin' the weathah gals for sum time (mostly to figure outfits hmm I so lame), an' less'n THOR'S VERY OWN MALEVOLENT STORM gonna strike down yr home, yr granma, plus mosta Wisfrickinconsin, them gals play optimistic.]

"You can all expect to enjoy great temperatures today. So tan-friendly, anyone born before 2001 prolly figures they gonna DIE. Turns out frying eggs on a car bonnet in the Arizona Desert ain't so special! So, to everyone slow-roasting a moose up there in Maine, we salute you! Plus, if I'm perfectly frank, it is way hotter in the studio than, say, 2019 -- and I would toss aside my clothes in an instant were it not for the salary, the year-on-year kudos, and this way stoopid uplift bra. tbh I won't be surprised if flipping burgers in the Reykjavík heat don't become A THING before 2035."

(This was Trudy Squall, sumtime 2022 before CNN dismissed her for lookin' too pouty.)

    This an insight, Gord?

Gotta hope there sumthin' here you can use.

I ain't hunt nor fish nor golf -- but I loves Moi a meteoroligical showah of possibility.

Insight = Ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or Manus.

They will tell you exactly how to get it done.

Insight No 2 = To save time, just copy and paste what you typed above.

BONUS Insight = Stop posting your business plans onto public forums.

This is far from AI and more like Zapier automations...

The only AI part is you can ask ChatGPT to come up with a plan of actions.

You're going to need some custom RSS feed aggregate, content management tool then mailchimp or substack for the newsletter.

    Good luck

        Nope, automation isn't AI, inherently.

You're just performing repetitive tasks using predefined robots. While Zapier can of course integrate with AI well. It is not AI.

          You are splitting hairs.

The Zapier home page has A.I. written all over it.

Everything on there is A.I. this, that, and the other.

Their automations are A.I. automations and A.I. powered.

But anyway, thank you for giving me a new place to snag code.

They have A.I written all over it because in today's world an MIT dropout in a bathrobe can get $50M pre-seed by having each deck of their pitch say AI powered.

Like cron jobs people did back in the 70s; people like to call AI agents today because it's trendy.

Done arguing, whatever you think it is.

            Cheers

We weren't arguing, it's not even that serious.

Thank you for your insights about the differences between A.I. and automations.

    hi GordonJ
I'm not doing exactly this, but I've worked on automating content with AI + APIs before. The key is finding reliable, up-to-date weather sources. Combining multiple APIs for cross-validation can improve accuracy. AI can help with summarizing and formatting, but you might still need to fine-tune the prompts.

      This is great information!

I wonder if he could use a .gov weather website to extract that data.

BTW, most of the A.I. tools can write their own prompts, just give the
general idea and it will do the rest.

Thanks, it is appreciated. In today's climate, if an authority figure doesn't like your numbers, if they aren't what he/she wants, then you get fired; and weather people, such as NOAA, which is being defunded by almost half its annual budget leaves a gap in forecasting.

In the next couple of months, Aug, Sept and by Oct, we will see what the hurricane season looks like. A golfer planning on spending a couple of thousand dollars on a golf vacation, would like to have at least a best guess on the weather. Playing a Palm Beach golf course during a hurricane isn't any fun, although it might allow for the cheaters who play the game to hit award winning drives.

      Thanks again for your ideas.

Don't worry, there won't be a gap in forecasting.

Humans are no longer required to predict the weather.

    Well Gordon...

there are AI builders out there these days that will do exactly what you want with little effort.

Look into them. I have one I like, but you should test them out.
