Search in google and find out popular Instagram hashtags and use them if it's related to your post.

Find the trending hashtags and use them also.

Use normal hash related to the post.

Example: If your post is related to marketing
    Hashtags: #Marketing #DigitalMarketing #Onlinemarketing etc.

So I post a photo and in comments I add #digital marketing, #online marketing, etc.

If I use hashtags, then my photo will be displayed among those searches? Is that correct?

How many hashtags can I use?

No, at first upload a photo and use hashtags on description not in comment. You may add a description and call to action / web link along with hashtags. Check out below post for your easy understanding.

Yes, if you use hashtags then photo will be displayed among those searches and if you have enough engagements (likes+comments) on the post, it will come at the #1 position of search result.

You can use many hashtags if it's related to your post. Don't use nonsense hashtags.

The maximum you can use 30 hashtags in 1 post. Usually for small accounts with follower under 1k using 11+ hashtags works well. Once you grow bigger, you can get more selective with your hashtags.

What is your niche? Search the keywords that come to your mind and see how many posts there are on instagram with the hashtag.

Use Google to find the most trending keywords and use days hashtags like mondaymotivation, sundayfunday, tbt.. you get the picture?

Use the popular hashtags and try your own combination with Instagram suggestions as well. Use them. Let the Instagram autocomplete help you!

I'd suggest to keep the hashtags to a minimum of 5 and maximum of 10-15. Don't use more than that and if you have a caption, put the hashtags in the first comment to avoid any clumsiness.

There are lots of ways have those are works really well for using hashtags, such as:

    >Hashtags should be relevant and specific.
    >You can use emoji hashtags, nowadays it is really popular thing.
    >You can copy best hashtags in your pc or phone, but don't forget about relevancy. Then you can use it when you need it.
    >You can use group hashtags in your post, by this way you can get more traffic.
    >Do not use more hashtags, if you use more hashtags than its limit then it can't load, so keep it in mind.

Here's a couple of tips I remember off the top of my head:

    - The optimal number of hashtags to use in a post is in the 5 to 10 range
    - Study your competition's hashtags and use them (except for brand related ones, of course)
    - never forget to use your brand name as a hashtag
    - relevant hashtags are always a must
    - do some research regularly on the popular hashtags for the day

They don't work anymore. Utilize influencer marketing instead. I shifted to that course of action after hashtags becoming useless. But I've seen other still using hashtags on the comment section and claims to be working. I'm not so sure about that though.

If you are posting a picture on instagram.. Example - you can use the hashtags like #picture #picturetokeep #todayspicture #memories etc etc. which are relatable to your picture.

  • You can add hashtags in the caption or comments of your post. If you add hashtags to a post that's set to public, the post will be visible on the corresponding hashtag page.

To tag a photo or video with a hashtag:

Take or upload a photo or video
Choose to add a filter, then type # followed by text or emoji in the Caption field (example: #flower)
If you want to add a hashtag to a post you've already uploaded, edit the caption or include your hashtag in a comment on your photo
After you tag your post with a hashtag, you'll be able to tap the hashtag to see a page that shows all photos and videos people have uploaded with that hashtag.

    Things to keep in mind:

When people with private profiles tag posts, they won't appear publicly on hashtag pages.
Numbers are allowed in hashtags. However, spaces and special characters, like $ or %, won't work.
You can only tag your own posts. You can't tag other people's photos/videos.
You can use up to 30 tags on a post. If you include more than 30 tags on a single photo/video, your comment won't post.
