Website is not ranking

I am working on a brochure website that isn't ranking in the US

It is an Irish based website targeting USA students looking to go on a summer camp.

It has good backlinks including edu links, speed is good, content is decent.

Anyone got ideas of what I could be missing in order to rank in the US?

Whats the best approach for getting ranked in the US?

The site does not have a physical address anywhere in the US.

Links I have built are US based links

Did you go into Google webmaster tools and tell Google you want to target the USA?

First thing you should have done!

The way you say, including .edu, makes me think you don't know what a good back link is.

A backlink from a .edu domain is good if, and only if, it comes from a page that's got a bunch of good links of its own (or a lot of links from pages on good sites that don't have any backlinks).

The same is true for everything else.

You probably are not ranking because you don't have enough link-juice.

You need more (possibly lots more) of the kind you already have, or a few good ones.

(I am assuming you've done keyword research well.)

          Param,
For this type issue, you have to do some local SEO for the business website, Optimize first for the local search done effective Local Keyword Research keywords like

          house cleaning services
          Ontario cleaning services

Optimize your website content with researched keywords, After that you can move to local seo, Some step for local SEO,
Create a facebook page, Google page, Google map, Some local citations And some backlink as well, You can see improvement as soon as possible.

Like some have said... I think the type of links that you have aren't as good as you think. So the first thing I would do is familiarize myself with what are considered quality links. I would also make sure that the website doesn't have certain links that are affecting my rankings.

There are many things that are preventing the website from ranking. The keywords you are targetting may be too difficult to rank for, so you might want to make sure you are properly doing keyword research.

For example, I came across this article: https://www.nohatdigital.com/blog/em...ir-experiment/ , he seems to have been able to rank #3 for a keyword in 3 days. Only way that is possible is if proper keyword research is done.

His other post, also on that website might help you out as well: https://www.nohatdigital.com/blog/iterative-seo/

So pretty much make sure that you're doing the right way (not saying you are).

If you have all the backlinks and other stuffs then I do not understand how is possible that your website is not ranked? There is probably something more that you miss on your website since this is the only explanation.

I am an SEO expert and specialise in getting web sites on page 1 for the past 10 years. Sounds like your domain authority is not noteworthy yet and unique content may be not good enough from googles criteria.

List your company web site on other high volume traffic web sites and have people visit your directory listing then click into your web site. Over a period of time, this will give you domain authority.

there are also 200+ SEO requirements you need to meet or near enough meet to get listed correctly. Having a exact match domain name will help. Having 10+ domain names/websites with similar topics in the title but not exact unique content will sure to help.

Are you optimizing for long tail keyword? If not - this may be the reason why the competition in search terms is hard to beat. Don't you mind sharing the website actually? It would be much easier to help

Well one thing I would say is to make sure the content isn't just "good" but that the content is GREAT.

Then also what do you mean by its an irish based site targeting US students?

Have you used Google Webmaster Tools yet?

It has several tools that youll need to use to get your site ranked.

The most important are the XML map submission, the site ownership verification and the site geotargeting (select USA).

If you attach a blog to your site and keep the info fresh and regularly updated, Google will rank your site.

Ranking a website depends on numerous factors such average time spent on the site, bounce rate, pages per session. You can increase the average time spent on the site by adding the videos or vblogs. Using long tail keyword is also the best solution to drive traffic quickly to the site. The reason is search engines show the relevant result for search queries and long tail keywords are specified.
