When you're checking out a business, what reviews do you look at? Only their Google reviews? or their Facebook reviews too?

Thanks

Any kind of review. Just by typing into google by 'business name' + review.

I look at whatever reviews pop up in front of me when I am searching for the business.

Or more specifically, do you go out of your way to see a businesses' facebook reviews, or would the google reviews be enough?

    Thanks

It depends on what I'm looking for.

I'm going to look at different things when I'm looking for a place to have lunch vs. someone to fix my car or one of the systems in my house.

For the first, I'm likely to check out either Yelp or TripAdvisor, or both.

For the latter, I'm going to look at sites like HomeAdvisor.

I've also learned to toss out old reviews, along with very generic "this biz did great" type fluff. Read enough reviews, and you quickly learn to spot the fakes.

I generally don't trust FB reviews, not because of the frauds (which I can spot), but because of the protective nature of the fanboy contingents that will quickly rip to shreds any hint that their darling is less than perfect.

As far as products go, I start with Amazon. From there, I'll go to sites like Best Buy, WalMart, etc. as appropriate.

Unless it's a cheap impulse buy, I survey a lot of reviews. Again, not just because of the fakes, but because what may be perfectly suited to one person may be totally unacceptable to another.
