Changing to SSL on an HTML site

BEGINNERS AREA

I have a site for which an SSL certificate was recently purchased. It is an older HTML site with a Wordpress Blog. I changed the links from http to https and and am still getting a "Your connection is not secure" message. I am also over my head on this one and have exhausted all searches and avenues of information. Any help would be unbelievably appreciated.
