I have been making most of my income from Clickbait articles on facebook. I have had one of my pages views and reach go to practically nothing. I know this is from the clickbait. I am still posting some of that type of content on my other pages. Do you think I should stop with that content all together? I am also making very little for Amazon since January. I guess I am at a loss on what to do with 325,000 fans and now zero income. I really feel like I have wasted 3 years here....ugh

  • you don't need to take anything on heart because you have earned a good number of viewers in this time. there are still many ways of utilizing this men power you have. you can go for posting about SEO or writing things on digital currencies.
  • Just a moral question for you - Do you get any kind of satisfaction or stimulation from clickbaits?

    • Lol. Well for what it is worth, I only post content that I feel had value. DIY, health, cooking, etc. Very little drama. I am not good at building my website, etc. But, not, I get to learn how, I guess!
    • Ok, so basically, my main page was getting zero views, because of Facebook blocking it because of the clickbait. The views are coming back, so I know I can rebuild the post reach. The page is a general interest, (country living) but my plan now is to get help writing more articles for my website and then I will be able to get accepted by more affiliate programs, to earn more income. Niche really isn't good to sell to do stuff, just merchandise. Any more ideas would be appreciated!
  • "Gaming the system" has it's place.

Almost everyone with any significant online presence uses at least one kind of strategy that involves high Page Authority Links, expired Web 2.0 Domains or PBN networks.

But when gaming the system is your only business, that's when problems begin.

From my experience - search engines will turn a blind eye to link building, click baiting or any other form of traffic generation - provided you provide some value.

Value is measured through engagement. How long do your "fans" spend watching your content. Do they like, share and comment on it?

Look at it from the network's perspective - if they allowed sub-standard content, and word got out - they would be out of business, right?

Re-engage with your fans. Post quality content in your niche. Run contests. Pay a few dollars to have your content seen through sponsered posts. Get people to opt-in to a list. Be a real person, adding real, valuable content, and see your business transformed.

How has your income been affected by the latest changes that Facebook made?

. Would be interesting to see the effects from a self professed clickbait author's view

    • I will earn 10% of what I earned last month. So, I am moving in a new direction!
  • I tried that early on before the term "clickbait" was even well known. This was when article marketing using directories was still the main way to drive free traffic. It works to get people to click, but they can turn on you fast when they see that the content doesn't live up to the clickbait title you used. If the goal is to actually do something with the readers you get, then clickbait certainly can't be a long term strategy. You can however still create titles that grab attention and get people excited to read your content.
  • Are all or your Facebook posts performing poorly now or just the ones with links in them?

    • The largest page is the one that is performing poorly. The others don't have as large of a reach. They are down a bit, but ok. The large one, is where the income was coming from for the most part. I have pretty much stop the links on all pages though; I can't afford to lose one. The reach is coming back on all of the pages. Now, I gotta figure out how to move the traffic to my website.

    • Well I personally think some gurus are sharing content that can be found elsewhere. Niel Patel shares valuable information on youtube, maybe you can learn from him.
  • Don't know what your main page is, but is there anything that you can promote that aligns a bit with it?

    • Yes. The page is pretty general, but I am going to start writing articles and use affiliate links.
