Cloning a successful business - when it's allowed and when it's not ?

Hey. I am not that guy who can reinvent the wheel, so I want to clone some online businesses and see how it goes... I guess I will get similar result if I do this well enough...

My question is the following: how much am I allowed to clone the businesses of my competitors?
Copyright, graphic design, funnel and so on... Am I allowed to copy-paste them on my on my page?

I guess not, so a better question would be:
How can I clone AS MUCH AS I CAN from my competitors without doing something that is not allowed?

I would appreciate very much if someone could share his toughts on this topic

If you are going to walk that close to the line - you need to do the research and LEARN about copyright and about trademark protection. Don't count on anonymous forum members for legal advice.

Not necessarily. If your 'business model' is to copy the work others have done hoping to profit without doing work yourself - unlikely to end well.

I am not that guy who can reinvent the wheel
No need to reinvent the wheel - just MODEL methods others use - and do the work to build your own 'wheel'.

I'd bet money you won't. Cloning a business by taking as much of what they do doesn't allow you to copy one important thing

understand their business and their customers

The key ingredient that leads to success.

If you want to clone an online business, one thing you can do is search for a clone or similar website script. Most sucessfull online businesses have clone scripts available which are much cheaper than programming a full site from scratch. Most website scripts are made to work around a certain business model.

But thats only part of the process.

Depending on the business you wish to copy, there's much more to it, such as managing and promotion.

This is a slippery slop. I wouldn't try to clone anything, maybe just mimic it with your own flare. Also don't expect that if you copy it that you will get the same results.

Yes you are right I have a site Bucks2burn that I mimicked from Thisiswhyimbroke. This is not a clone. I may have mimicked the products but each one is spun by hand such as this product from Thisiswhyimbroke this is theirs Canned Unicorn Meat, and this is mine Canned Unicorn Meat. Different site mechanics different content, even different affiliate.

      Good Luck

    Here's your answer...

    it's actually simple.

So just to get this straight. if you copy or clone a business, you will see results. thats for sure, that's if you are copying a business thats doing good. But here's the thing where it becomes a problem, you won't nearly see as much success as them. not even close.

You will see some results only if you do everything the same, from advertising to selling to the actual product.
its impossible to really copy every aspect so, most likely it won't work out that well.

but you say you don't want to reinvent the wheel and you don't have to, and actually you shouldn't...

So this is what you need to do.
-Find something that already works very well...
-Find what is the best things that they are doing and copy exactly.
-Model it as close as possible.
-Make it unique, and find your "one thing" that you do better than anyone else in your market. find your underlying magic.

for modeling, it is very easy.. you don't have to be original.

Its like when you cheat on a test. you want to put in the right answer but you don't word it the same, but you still have the right answer. so you get the same result but in a slightly different way.

if you copy word for word, then you get caught.

If you have any questions let me know!

As far as funnels are considered, believe me 90% people are following the same thing. So there is nothing to copy. Be very very careful about images and videos because of copy right issues... Try to copy competitors methodologies, not the content..

  • I would suggest that you do a course on creating your own online business.

Learn how to build a website, or learn how to effectively outsource the task.

Learn how to build to an email list the correct way, so you can eventually create you own list of buyers.

Learn how to create and market products online, so that you can control the growth of your online business.

Once you have learned how to do all of the above yourself, then you can outsource all the tasks you don't want to do yourself.

Copying/cloning a business can have serious legal implications, so rather start your own unique online business.

Your question is totally hysterical based on your avatar slogan.

Why not just steal everything you can and call it an 'homage?' :-)

    I don't know. Maybe it's me. lol
