When I used to sell a webservice and had no clients , I would get some $1 domains and make my friends some website for there business that way instant portfolio

I will tell you one thing the more wiz bang things you add are not worth it

Clients want a functional site , has the about us, some images of products and a contact page very simple ,and you will always sell them opposed to the fancy sites don't get me wrong fancy are the whales that website will cost in 5K-15K range to make

To many people over complicate work process , just do what you need to make a some good money

I made my first sales online as an affiliate marketer, promoting other peoples products while earning commission.

Once you have mastered the art of marketing other peoples products, and earning affiliate commission, then you can create your first information product teaching your prospects how to make their first sales online.

You then invest in more internet marketing courses, and you can create more courses that way, as you try and test other people's products in your niche

You won't get the prospects to believe in you until you believe in yourself.

The idea of needing a portfolio is a lie. It's the kind of thing that is repeated like parrots by people who don't know any better and don't have any of their own experience--or they did it that way, so they assume everyone else has to as well.

The truth is that the person who best describes the problem...who best listens to the prospect and finds out what that individual really needs...they're the person who gets the order.

Being in the right place at the right time helps, too. My first serious writing gig, making $100 for an article (contrast with all the writers on here fighting for $5 and $10 articles), showed up on my plate because I had approached the company beforehand, and the writer they had been working with flaked. No samples, BTW. I talked about my engineering and electronics experience, which was directly relevant to their business. I was in the right place at the right time with the right goods, and bingo: I was handed the job.

This anxiety you have about not having clients...it's what's causing you to not have clients. You keep projecting that out in to the world. Most of the time it keeps you from doing the things you need to be doing to get clients, and on the occasions you do take action, it's half-hearted. By the time you actually get to talk to somebody, they can smell the fear. "I sure hope they don't ask for references." When a prospect is sure you can solve their problem, they don't ask those kinds of cop-out questions.

Search through the Offline subforum for help. Your problem has been discussed there many, many times over the past 6 years.

No don't work for free. Not beneficial for anyone in the long run. Just keep promoting your services and believe in yourself when you get people who are younger AND older than you on the phone. And if people try to pull your credibility card, be upfront and remind them how you got THEM to fill out their information for you in the first place.

First and foremost you are the brand. You might feel as if you don't have much to offer if anything at all but you actually do. See I've learned to show vulnerabilities like you and on top of that build trust in the market place.When you publicly admit that you don't have experience or solution you open the door and build credibility. Sounds kind of foolish for me to say that but trust me it is beneficial.

Keep learning and applying what you are being taught .Try not to consume too much infirmation at once .

Very simple. Create content every single day and place that content before the eyes of your TARGET market. If you're targeting dentists, don't place the content in front of plumbers per se.

This is how I got my first client(s). When you post content in areas where their COMPETITORS are watching, and you're posting PURE GOLD, they know their competitors are watching and will want to extract the best of you for fear of missing out. When they APPROACH YOU, you control the frame and will end up with larger deals.

The era of chasing deals and begging people to come to you is over. Content creators are building businesses like you wouldn't believe.
