Best Advertising Platform

Hi,

I am the owner of a Career Services company (Resumes, Cover Letters, LinkedIn Profiles, etc.) and I am trying to work on expanding my business...which advertising platform would be best for my business: Facebook or Google Adwords?

Facebook can be good for almost anything, in my opinion. Anything can be sold and bought on Facebook. Also, you can always have sponsored ads to boost your presence -Micah

I guess I just always saw FB as a place for friends and families to communicate. Probably a way for people to get away from their job and socialize with others. I thought building ads on FB would be useless because people might overlook it. Maybe I'll give it a try.

I am welcoming more responses from others!

AdWords would be far better than Facebook. It's not even close.

With Facebook, you are not going to be able to target people looking for a job that would be interested in a service like that. I honestly have no idea why anyone would suggest Facebook other than it is cheaper and/or they do not understand AdWords.

Try Both, for example Facebook CPM 40% and Google Adwords CPA 60%.

Facebook might be good for scale, but I will agree that Adwords is the best source when it comes to getting high intent targeting. I would test there first.

When considering Adwords, which one is better to get the best results:
    Adwords
    or

On google chrome it took way to long to open. If your site loads that slow you are going to lose a ton of traffic just at the start. Get a second opinion from another poster, if they agree you have a serious problem to fix right away. Just trying to help with the FYI.

Personally, I believe something like this would be done in more of a precision manner via AdWords. The reason I say this is very simple. With AdWords you can get down to the nitty gritty keyword phrases guaranteeing you that the prospect is highly targeted. I just don't understand how that could be possible on FB and would be extremely sloppy, shot in the dark targeting. Just my opinion.

If I were you I would try both and let the results tell you which one works better for this scenario. Another option would be bingads.

Well, Facebook comes on top of everything else. But still, you need to compare the rates of FB adverts with that of Google AdWords in your targeted region. Also, check if the larger percentage of internet users in your intended area use FB or go to Google for finding the information. Compare the rates by creating campaigns and run smaller ones with lower budgets. Only increase budgets once you start seeing the results.

Thank you all for the help! Now I'm onto the next step: I'm going to move forward with using Google Adwords.

This is the thing - I'd like to target job seekers and possibly target those that have been experiencing job losses with company closings (Toys "R" Us, Claires, etc.)

What are some ideas for how to find the best keywords? I am all for trying ads, but I want to experience a ROI. I don't want to waste money on ads that will not bring some type of ROI.

If someone could provide advice or point me in a good direction, I would really appreciate it!

Also: Google Adwords or Google Adwords Express, which one is best?

I started with google adwords, but from looking at my data people are clicking on the ad to go to my website, but they are not landing in my online store (on bigcartel). Should I just link my ads to my Big Cartel store? I thought people would want to see my website to learn more information first before purchasing.

    Any advice?

What are you linking to from your ads? The homepage or a specific landing page where you explain your service and leverage the pain points of your dream clients to get more sales?

Use instapage or a similar tool to create a nice landing page, easy to read (better if you have a 30 sec video to explain why somebody should buy your service), and link to the cart from there.

In my opinion I would say Facebook. I think they give you a greater amount of options when it comes to targeting your audience. You can be a lot more specific with Facebook. If you know who your target audience is then I would go with Facebook.
