Need Marketing Strategy Advice

I want to sell a product but i don't have any budget to invest and i don't have a blog either or any social media presence, my blogging skills are not great so i'm not considering to open a blog right now, as you can see my situation is not great.

The first time i tried to sell a product, i tried to promote through forums but this didn't go well because most forums don't allow you to make advertise threads, so my threads got deleted and my sales dropped. Facebook didn't go well either because most pages don't allow you to promote.

The only viable methods i know so far are signature posting on forums(place the link on signature, they allow that) and youtube/quora call to action posting. Can anyone suggest another way to improve sales on my current situation? is it even worth to bother with ecommerce at this point? i don't aim to make a lot fast, i just want to make enough to steadily improve. I want to make better use of twitter as well but im clueless about how.

Lastly, on my current situation is it better to go for dropship or affiliate store?

Do you offer a commission if some one else sells your product? If your products retails for $100, but costs you $30 to make, are you willing to give me $30 in commission if I generate a sale for you? Are you happy with a $40 margin? Strategic partnerships is what you need. If you have a unique product with a healthy margin a good affiliate marketer (or affiliate network) could create a landing page, drive targeted traffic to it and create sales for you. Key word there being targeted. If you sell dog leashes, why not partner with people that own data on pet owners. Let's say your local vet, pet shop, and dog boarder has an email list. Maybe they want to make some extra money pitching your awesome dog leash in their newsletter. Let them do the heavy lifting sending the email out an pitching it to their customers. They make money, you make money and everyone wins. I would gladly take 1000 sales every month at $40 profit vs fighting to find free traffic because I want to keep all $70 of my margin.

    I guess a few options:
-save money so you have a budget
-create a website and build it organically
    -build a social media presence

If you're struggling with everything, you need to a working budget to be able to hire people to do some of the tasks for you. You can try your luck with dropshipping, but I also suggest that you try creating a blog and establish your name first. You can hire content writers to create your content. -Micah

  • Free traffic takes a lot of work. You need to be persistent every day.

The cheapest way (to get away from forums) is to make slide presentations, in videos, and upload them on YouTube. Make a video every week minimum.

Its free and you can optimize them to rank. You can also be on the video if you like.

Well, I think to start you need to start finding ways to do stuff instead of reasons not to. If you're not good at something then practice and get good. If you don't have a social media presence then build on. Etc.

You're going to have a really hard time making money if you focus on your problems instead of the solutions. Sorry if this sounds harsh.

Your don't need to have writing skills like Hemingway to create a successful blog

It is more about the work than about talent. People simply have some problems so use the blog to explain them how the product you want to sell can solve the problems.

Try creating social media accounts and advertise your product there! You can also make reviews on your product through videos or blogs. You certainly don't need the blogging skills.

I am wondering what type of product you are trying to sell. There are so many online platforms and mobile applications that you can use to sell things. Many of them work like other social networking sites. You can approach blogging the same way with sites like medium. Writing for the web is much different than traditional writing so I would not say that you must have an eloquent style of writing to blog.

I'd set aside a few years to practice a skill daily. Make that skill a beneficial skill. Then in time, as you practice and help folks, you will sell products to people you help. Simple process but highly uncomfortable at times, because you need to remove your faith from a product and put it in yourself. Most humans are really scared of doing that.

Well you have written that your presence is not great in social media and you are not inclined to do blogging... these are very important to promote your products digitally. Another way is to use YouTube by making you videos. But that too, you will have to share on social media to make it popular. My advice is, start making videos to promote your products and at the same time improve your social media presence...

You need to use every social media tool like a Facebook business page, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, Twitter. You also want to use Quora and Yahoo Answers. As well as using free classifieds like Craigslist and Backpage.

I see that blogging, email subs and social media are a cookie cutter for any affiliate plan or any plan at all, i have seen some sites who were pure affiliate stores, im not sure how do they generate leads since they don't have any blog or vlog on their sites, also all these people who dropship through shopify, do they create content on their sites all the time? or guest blog a lot?

Overall, are vlogs or blogs and social media a neccesary thing no matter what you do? i would like to show you the type of site im talking about but im not allowed to share a link i think, it has really nice navigation and very advanced descriptions but it has no content at all so im not sure how it could possibly leverage social media.I have read that paid advertising sucks so who knows maybe content is unavoidable. I think i can avoid it in the shortterm by dropshipping on ebay and then i can outsource it later when i have more capital.

Edit: I just realized the site i was talking about has a presence on twitter but it doesn't post vlogs or articles, all the content is: "do you want that? then buy that". It looks too salesly, i doubt it works. only 47 followers.

If you are just getting started I would use a platform like blogger. This will save you a TON of money in the future. The only investment I would make is with a domain name that I believe is $12 a year. Not bad for beginning a REAL business.

I would share as much of the product as you can EVERYDAY. You can easily write 2 posts a day which basically places you business on auto-pilot on day 1. You can schedule each post a day in advance and the before long you will be on total auto-pilot. Posts of between 500-700 words should do the trick. Linking to other blogs and websites with high authority in your niche will add to the credibility of the information you present as well.

The only marketing strategy I would say is be real. The more real you are with your voice the better writer you will be and the more unique your posts are in conjunction with other sites in your niche.

With blogger you will gain access to a tool called search console that places your site into a webmaster arena to have views, searches, and keywords analyzed among a wide variety of other tools. Once your site begins to get picked up by the search engines you will see the terms found by search engines, how many impressions received etc. Most likely some of these terms will be found within the context of your post allowing you to basically write new posts according to the search term. This will move your blog forward in regards to organic search traffic and then those posts will branch of to generate search terms you can create posts about.

What is great about blogger is not only will you be able to begin selling your product but you will also have the ability to sign on with Google Adsense for some passive income. Passive meaning you do not have to SELL anything to generate income. Instead when someone clicks an ad on your blog you will get paid.

The income generated can be used to design a more prevalent website with your name already being established as an expert within your niche. Commenting on blogs, writing articles for directories, forum posting will also add to your online visibility and traffic back to your blog. Traffic and genuine information on your site will be the lifeblood of your online business.

Depending on what product you're selling I would advice you to start up social media accounts relevant to it. Doesn't even have to be about the product, if you're selling lighters you can start a page about smoking for example. It's always better do something than nothing.

    Two questions:

    1. Is it possible to get a very customizable and useful/content related ppc ad by contacting directly an advertiser? customizable means you can place it wherever you want on your site and useful means it won't be an unattractive filler, can i find such ppc ads anywhere? can you recommend a site with trusted advertisers where i can ask for this?

    2. Can you buy referals anywhere and force them to click on the affiliate link on your site and make you money in an instant? is such a thing prohibited? can it work?
