Hi, is 1&1 good for hosting wordpress blog? Its a bit cheap on 1 year hosting and free domain compared to godaddy/namecheap/bluehost.

Thanks in advance,
iAiden

Regarding 1&1, they have servers in Germany, UK, US, so e.g. if you're targeting UK visitors make sure that your site isn't hosted in Germany.

Try MDDHosting. That's what I'm using now to host my sites. Their customer service is extremely responsive. No issues with them so far.

Of course it's only my opinion but I would avoid them like the plague.

I won't relate my personal horror story but with a little searching you will find many others.

I would advise SiteGround. They are like 4$/month and are optimized for fast Wordpress dedicated hosting. Customer service is great and the fact that they specialize in one thing, they are very good.

I wouldn't recommend 1&1 for hosting, but just for domains they are good. Siteground is one of the best I've come across.

Depends on your budget. Another one I came across, though not used myself, is sharkhost - you can get 3 year hosting for around $10. They seem to have a decent reputation too.
