Clueless - Is that Easy to Make Money Online?

Just lost my job 3 months ago and attending several internet business / marketing webinar and bought some courses or products but stopped to buy after 1st course purchased for $1497.

All webinars are using the same method to bait customers to buy their product and promised that you could earn up to $100k in less than 3 months. Then, it's just a course on how to create a dropship website using woocommerce or other blueprint. You can build but the challenge is the promotion to get sales conversion.

Another one is to promote their affiliate program - $2/referred affiliate but need to purchase monthly Getresponse account and Yahoo hosting. Recommend to hire someone to promote the link to 100 people for $50 -> the return is approved, valid referral of 2 person - $4.

Purchase several products from Warrior Forum as well - not telling what's the way to make online and turn up that's not suitable.

Promoting Clickbank - the advertisement fee is much higher than the commission fee.

Unless you can afford such fees for the material you're currently buying, I would suggest finding FREE or cheap methods for what you want to do; Use the forum search function to find out answers to your questions as well.

Yes, looking for free and cheap methods as well but there're too many methods and ways available. Not sure which one to choose. Ending up that keep reading and searching.

You wasted alot money to be honest I'm learning from internet for free instead and I could utilize some money which i can afford on products which are mandatory for my work such as some important tools and so on
You should not give up try to implement what you learned from those courses and don't spend any money for paid courses

Yes but just treat it as a learning/education fee. I've joined some paid guru and their advice is to create an ebook and sell in Warrior Forum. Just do research through free sources and compile it into an ebook. Then, the one matter is to creating a catchy sales heading and introduction to get customers buy the ebook. I cannot say that the ebook quality is not good but it could save time for others to look for the sources. However, I couldn't stand is the non genuine sales headlines / promises. I couldn't make one as I will not say that I'm making $10k in 1 month but in fact is not true.

$100K in 3 months? Sure, if you've got a product and match to market figured out...know how to drive traffic, can afford sufficient traffic...and can get the funnel set up.

    Un-freakin-likely.

That right there should have gotten your alarm bell ringing.

Go get a job. There's no way you can learn traffic and conversion in the short time you have available.

Part time, evenings & weekends, learn how to run a funnel. Learn discernment: how to tell whether a person is full of crap or not. If they promise magic riches in five minutes of effort, don't believe them. If they say "anybody can do this," don't believe them.

In answer to your question...How do you make money on line?

You drive (ideally pre-qualified) traffic to a conversion tool.

If you're smart, you'll drive the traffic to a qualification tool...and then send the qualified leads to the conversion tool.

Yes, sometimes I am not patient enough and give up too early when not seeing results. Hope that I could get success in internet business.

Statistically, most people fail at internet marketing. So $100K in 3 months is a pipedream for most.

Not that you shouldn't try, because some will be successful and it could be you.

I've been promoting affiliate / CPA offer for over 17 years.

My advice / boiler plate response to newbies is to start with PPL and learn to drive traffic / build a list.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best. They also tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience), so the potential exists to produce high volume and they are fairly easy to cross promote on the back-end.

Some of the verticals (niches) I have done extremely well with are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

The bulk of the PPL offers that I promote pay $20-$40 per lead, but I also promote offers that pay more and less. You don't want to get too caught up on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same or possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.

I have also done just as good with dating website sign-ups and pretty good with free trial + S/H offers. I also promote a very limited number of offers that straight sales. For them, mass appeal is still the number one thing I look for and I also look for one of the following...

    1) The product is new and/or novel-unique and you can't purchase it locally or even something similar. I don't waste my time with it once something similar shows up in Walmart.

    2) The buyer can truly get what is being offered at a decent discount.

    3) Solves a house is on fire type problem.

However, I mainly promote non-PPL offers on the backend.

Bottom line, it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

    Something to think about.

It's not that easy as advertised by many "gurus" in this industry but it's not that hard also..It's all about learning the fundamentals, having a plan and taking action...

The quickest way to make money on the internet is through arbitrage, no need for a site/list/community but if you want to skip the trial and error phase you need a mentor or at least to join a group of people that can answer to all your questions/problems.

Also you need to be prepared mentally for a failure when running your first funnel using paid ads..you need to see it like an investment, you buy data for improving your funnel.

If you want to take the IM business serious, understand the value of assets like: email list, authority site, community of people around a certain topic, digital/physical product.

    Hi Ahbingo,

My courses on blogging stress it is simple to make money online *but* simple often becomes incredibly uncomfortable, because few have the stomach - as a newbie online - to do the same simple things daily for 1-2 years or more without seeing many results.

Nope; it's not easy because it's scary to dive into this game. You have high hopes. Manipulative marketers scared of losing money teach you fear-based, manipulative methods, the desperate leading the desperate. Struggles, and failure, until you have enough money to buy a big list, so you can catch a few desperate suckers and cash in on 'em. Even then, the journey sucks. Not fulfilling. Just about making money.

I suspect you still feel pain from losing your job. My heart goes out to you. But if that pain/fear dominates your energy, you will act from that pain/fear energy, and will struggle to make money online for 10,000 years until you feel the pain-fear sting of job loss, and of running out of money, so you can replace it with love-fun energy, and apply that vibe to your work.

This MMO journey is for the generous, the patient, the persistent, and for the largely detached, heart-centered entrepreneur.

I just received royalty payments for my audio books on iTunes, Amazon and Audible today. Now it feels routine - monthly royalties for my audio books and 126 eBooks on Amazon - yet thinking about it while writing this post, I think of the years of my life I gave to learning blogging and practicing, to develop the skills necessary to write eBooks that I converted to audio books. It took a while, with some false starts and stumbles, but I love what I do, I sleep well at night and feel good about rendering useful service to people as a full time, pro blogger.

Good things take time, my friend. Like years.

If you're gonna be around, may as well do it right. But it starts with embracing the fear of losing money, and the pain of losing your job, so you can start this journey with a generous, caring, patient, largely detached energy.

It's a lot harder to make money online these days. The barriers to entry have been raised.

I have failed to get any traffic to a new site I started this year, and I've been doing this for 20 years now!

It's ALL in your choice of niche. In many niches now you simply will not rank unless you have good backlinks accumulated over time.

The good news is that many niches are still easy. Hobbies and interests are the best hunting grounds.

    Good luck.

  • LIt is easy to make money online, once you have already made your first sale online.

Making your first sale is usually the hardest part of making money online.

Invest in your online education. First buy a course on how to make money online, then apply everything you have learned first before buying an autoresponder service and paid hosting.

You lost your job and immediately shelled out $1497 on a webinar?? Thats Ballzy!
There are so many offers out there, its easy to be flooded and overwhelmed with info...
I would say pick a product you have an interest in.. that way its easier to stay focused..
I would say stick with JUST ONE offer for now.. when you sign up for many different offers, you get very lost very quick and ultimately de-motivated.. which you dont want.
If your really unsure... and you dont know where to start.. reach out and I can help you find an offer you are comfortable to start off with..

Its very rewarding when you stay focused and on track!

Affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to make money as there is no cost to become an affiliate and there are free ways to promote the products.
There are also paid ways to promote like Facebook ads but can be quite hard to master and the price could add up.
Research more about making money than to go straight in and pay shed loads of money for something that will only make the seller money.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11337860].message }}
  • I'm not sure what info or courses you purchased, and it really doesn't matter. It is possible that you can learn from the information you purchased and then look for ways to apply that information for free.

I agree that affiliate marketing can be a quick way to earn some money, but it would take a little while to build it up were you have recurring money coming in every month.

Yes it is quite easy earning online, but how much you can earn is on a different matter. You can try looking at upwork. I only have good things to say about that as that is also the only one I've tried. Depending on your skill set then it is from there that you could put a price to your services.

In an over saturated market it is near impossible to be successful online - unless you got a popular niche that everyone wants. You should consider optimising your web site for Google Adsense and really LEARN SEO techniques and processors because without traic to your web site, it is really useless. I manage to finally get 1,000 unique visitors per day to my web sites i own (i own multiple web sites in the technology field).

Truth is, you can earn online but you really need to know and understand what you are doing at the foundations level and preferably basic prorgamming in html/wordpress.

    1. you need to buy a domain name with fast web hosting
    2. lots of content about a topic on your web site with hundreds of pages
    3. google adsense and or (preferably both), signup to adsense and get a approved.
    4. it's an ever changing field so if you dont' like change then it's not going to work.
    5. get web site traffic to your website from social media, google, etc, etc.

just in my humble oppinon, click bank doesnt work. its all setup for the fat cats at the top who own the thing. (just my oppinon though)

I been at internet marketing for 8+ years so i consider my self expert now. feel free to send through any questions to private message.

Either way, its not impossible, just difficult, you need thousands of unique visitors driven to your web site every single day and its possible.

I cannot stress how important getting good quality website traffic is to your web site actually is, you need high volumes of quality website traffic to your web site and you will have a higher chance of succeeding.

Signup to twitter is a good place to start and create a popular twitter name thats going work, worldwide. (share out your web site to everyone on twitter, facebook, instagram). You also need to make sure it's branded so everything looks the same or very similar.

e.g. Topics Include. How Do I Speed up a Computer?

Purchase several products from Warrior Forum as well - not telling what's the way to make online and turn up that's not suitable.

Promoting Clickbank - the advertisement fee is much higher than the commission fee.
It sounds like you are jumping around too much. I recommend just sticking with one method and stick at it.

A quote I heard the other day also seems fitting "if it was easy, everyone would be doing it". Just keep at it. Keep browsing these forums and try to pick one general method and keep at it.

One of the first things I learned how to do in the online space was Shopify and drop shipping. Trying to find winning products to sell online takes time. It is not something that you can do in just a few hours. You have to do a lot of research to find out if the product is already burned out or if it is something on the up and up. You are going to have to work hard for anything that you do in the online space, no matter whether it is eCommerce or CPA.

Regarding the courses, there is a ton of free information on the Internet pertaining to Shopify and drop shipping and it is pretty hard to not go into information overload. Keep in mind to go over one subject at a time. Master one thing and then move on to the next. A lot of people who are on the Internet selling courses have no idea what they are talking about and it is hard to find someone who does. For now, I would not spend anymore money on purchasing courses. Take the time in learning the information you already have and then search the Internet for free content that you are not sure about.

100k in 90 days for a new marketer ,that is hog wash ,I am sorry that you got caught up into that .

Stop buying up courses because it looks like you are being sold dreams instead of being taught true tried and tested techniques and strategies that benefit and add to your skill-sets.

I know the feeling of trying to find something that works and just spending money on product after product. I've learned quickly online that in order to make money you have to be willing to work hard. If you don't want to work hard, then internet marketing might not be the best thing for you.

Lots of people online will be promising that you could make a lot of money in a short amount of time and I'll tell you right now all of that is a lie. They will tell you anything to get you to buy their product.

Stop spending money on expensive courses and stick to the basics of making money online.

    What are the basics?

Find a group of people with a need (Niche)

Create a solution to help them with this need (Product)

Create your marketing material to convince them as to why they need your product (Selling)

This is the most you need to begin making money online. You just need to find the right people and create the right product for them. Stop thinking about how you could make more money and start thinking about how you could offer more value to your target audience.

There is nothing called quick money. Slow and steady builds the business.
