What free ways are there to premote a product/service

I would like to know what are some free methods (not costing one cent) to generate buyers traffic to a site as well as some free actual ways to advertise a product/service.

The reason I ask this is because everywhere I look, like on Facebook,google etc. you have to pay for ads.

What I am asking is other than by creating a website/blog or social media profile (which is going to take years to generate enough followers) what other ways are there to promote a product/service.

    It takes time. Yes using SEO would be the best option, but there is a lifetime of things to learn with that topic. It is great skill to have though. Also using certain platforms that has a marketplace. Either way taking the free route will take time, so I would be really patient.

    Have you considered setting up a Youtube channel ? Depending on the niche and competition Youtube videos can sometimes bring instant traffic, even if you don't want to appear on video yourself this can be easily outsourced very cheaply.

    You can go with social media accounts as well. In my opinion, you can use Twitter or Instagram for the promotion and get followers. Most people are using this two social media accounts and these two are more trendy. Go on with SEO optimization it will definitely benefit you in future.

    Remember that all though these methods do not cost money they cost a lot of time and effort.

    Utilize all social media take advantage of hashtags, groups, friends and follow others.
    Facebook
    Instagram
    Twitter
    LinkedIn
    Make sure to utilize YouTube by creating great videos, Help people by answering questions related to your niche on Yahoo Answers and Quora. Be sure to post on all Forums, and Free Classifieds like Craigslist and Backpage. You can also do Blog Commenting for traffic as well. Creating great content like Infographics is also a great way to get traffic.

    YouTube videos work for me. Give it a try. easiest way to get laser targeted traffic for your niche..

    The general rule of thumb is if you want quick followers/subs than you need to run ads, if you want it to be free than it will take work which takes longer. I don't know what your definition of a long time is, but if there were a quick free way to generate thousands of followers, than it would be very easy to find this information online. That is because everyone would be doing it.

    The quickest free way is by YouTube and posting daily videos, while using SEO.

    Depends on your niche.

    One I used before I went onto paid ads is Twitter, Go to search.twitter in Google, first one. Then search for the keywords in your niche. Like I need more money, for the MMO niche etc. You will then find the latest posts from people and just reply to them.

    Lots of ways to get free traffic, but social media is probably one of the most popular.
