I'm really having a hard time with finding the right people to advertise with on Fiverr. The first person offered to expose my website to 3Million people on a facebook group. What they failed to explain was that they were using a traffic generating software causing fake views to my website. I learned the hard way. I ended up installing google analytics to be able to understand what what going on. I was having 50 people show up every hour onto my website and no one was going past the first page. Obviously google analytics showed me why. After 24 hours I had to ask the Fiverr seller to take down my posts and stock adverting my website to stop the fake views to my website. I ended up telling them to keep the money cause it was only $6. I did additional research and they had hijacked some random facebook account that hadn't been used in over a year. They made 3 facebook groups that were by email invitation only so I couldn't remove myself. Lucky for me the seller reversed what had been done. I did leave a negative review on their seller page so hopefully they don't scam others. I found that people were too quick to give a positive reviews and they did express that they got a lot of views but no one was purchasing anything from their websites.
The second person I purchased from offered to make me a custom order. They claimed to be a 6 time bestselling author. They were specific about being G rated, which I had no issue with; however, their blog's name had the "B" word in it so I was not happy about that. Additionally, they spelled my website's name incorrectly and had no direct links in the post. They claimed to have 6k followers to their blog but I have yet to receive any traffic from them. Their facebook group only had 20 members, the pinterist account wasn't "active" and had dead links, and their blog doesn't have any stats or clickable links. This custom order cost me $26.
Anyone have better recommendations for advertisers on Fiverr?
What should I look for?
How can I point out the red flags?
I do read reviews and did use Fiverr's feature where you post up a specific job you need done. I mostly got random people posting up things that they could do but were not relative to what I needed.
