Starting With Affiliate Marketing

I am starting out with affiliate marketing. I just signed up with cj.com. What kind of offers should I be promoting?

My main traffic source would be Youtube PPC.
And also let me know if you have any suggestions for Youtube PPC

If you have an established website I would suggest looking at your top competitors, as they use a different number of affiliate programs. Then I would contact them and strive for an 8-12% commission which is much better than Amazon.

  • Your question is pretty broad, but you want to start with products that you may no a little about.

You also want to be looking at products that cost more so you can make more.

If you sell an affiliate product that is $100 and make $50. That's easier than selling 5 products that only return $10 each.

Stick with a niche and run with it.

That's what I was thinking. I've got a product in the weight loss niche. I'm thinking about creating a explainer video and promoting on youtube via ppc. Am I on the right track?

  • The profitable niches to promote affiliate products and eventually create new products in, would be "Weight loss", "Make money online" & "Dating and Relationships"

There are millions of people in those three niches, who are willing to pay you to have their problems solved, when you have their solution.

You may already have all of this in place, but I'll write it down here just in case

If you plan to run ppc with Google (or anyone for that matter), then NEVER send traffic straight from the ad to an offer. You're account will get banned.

You can run ppc traffic to a another video on your channel which has a cloaked link pointing to the offer in the description. OR send the traffic to your website (this should be a domain you own).

Its a great idea to run the ppc traffic to a squeeze page on your website and collect an email address.

If you want to send traffic to your website, the squeeze page / landing page you send the traffic to should have a link to your privacy policy, your terms of service, and a link to your Home and Contact Us page.

I hope that helps...this is all totally doable - but I just don't want to see you get your account banned.

PPC on YouTube is a valuable thing to be able to do - so you don't want to lose it!

If all of this sounds hard or confusing, just search for help on YouTube for these kinds of terms:

how to set up a landing page for YouTube PPC
    how to cloak links

If you use WordPress, you can just install the Auto Terms of Service plugin and then have your legal pages.

    Hope that helps!!

I was thinking rather than running a pre roll ad, I would rather try getting views to my video (via youtube search results) and then have the direct link in the description. I hope that would work.

Is there a specific niche you're interested in? What exactly is your strategy? What about landing page?

I don't have any suggestions for PPC at this very moment but I do have a tip to share .

Before grabbing a product to promote you should be engaging and identifying ways in which your product and service might benefit the community. So your going to have to pay attention to buying patterns and behaviors and collect data.So get busy, share a few YouTube videos to test the water , track your stats. There is no guessing involved here ,so the only ways you are going to figure this out is to be active and listening.
