    Hey @hayleymarycampbell

There are many open-source ERP software out there in the market like Odoo, Openbravo, Dolibarr. But the main thing is that for which purpose you want the ERP software? Please tell me your requirements first.

    Thank you.

I'm operations management-trained and have sold these ERP / MRP II systems over the past 20 years.

"The Best" is kind of an impossible dream as what is best for you is not best for someone else.

    BUT...

...what I can recommend you look for, that is valuable to all buyers, is LONGEVITY.

How long has the program been available?

How well has it been supported? Look for support threads and see how the developers respond to user inquiries. Are they ignored? Or do the devs come in with a mission and solve the problem? What have they done recently?

"Free" can be very expensive. Unsupported software eventually fails catastrophically...and when it's the skeleton of your business that has far-reaching effects. So make a good decision now and protect yourself.

It's not about the features. It's about whether the solution will be around next year. No one can guarantee that (though getting a paid solution helps); however, picking one that has emotionally-invested dev support is something you can do.

  • Hey, Jason Kanigan

Thanks for your reply. I know it's not totally about features. But each and every ERP software looks promising. So do you have any idea how i can see which software is better or is there any way where i can compare two software and get the actual idea?

    Let me know your views.

    Thank you :-)

      Then that shows you:

      a) just about everything will work

      and

      b) you don't know your own processes well enough.

It's a fact: most solutions will work.

Same goes for design programs, video editing suites, accounting software and so on.

And if you can't eliminate some options because it's clear they don't fit your processes, you don't know how you do what you do. This is a surprisingly common problem.

Technology is glue: apply it last.

Have you written down your procedures?

To be fair, most businesses have not.
