Don't forget you can also run Bing ads. They are cost effective compared to Adwords the spend is less and if set up right can bring in buying traffic. Try experiment on all sources (adwords, bing , facebook) and see how you make out. The only way you can find out what works best for you is testing each place.

I'd like to share my view on this.

You can use Google Adwords or Facebook Ads. But as your niche is web design, the competition among the keywords on google for that niche is very high and you will need to invest more if you want to bid for keywords to place the Ads.

Moreover about your Facebook Ads. It is way cheaper to get traffic from Facebook Ads than from Google Ads. But it also depends upon in which area you need to place the Ads and on which interests you need to place the Ads.

Thus I would suggest you to trial and test both on initial basis and then continue on the method which is more beneficial to you.

Great question. I would say, first of all, if one doesn´t know how to create free traffic, one shouldn´t go into paid traffic. The importance is to train yourself to become good at "attracting" the right clients, by training yourself in using the right words (copy) and pictures in doing so. This can be done without paid traffic. Once one has succeeded in generating the first leads on a stable basis by using non-paid traffic, then it´s time to move into paid traffic. That is my opinion since many people start with paid traffic and end up spending a TON of money on getting nowhere since they don´t understand the "mechanics" of "attracting" the right clients or customers, which includes copy and visuals.

Depends on your market and your goals. Are you trying to just get any traffic? Then it probably doesn't matter. Is your website something that gets a lot of social attention? Then maybe try to reach more on SM. Or if its saturated then go Google. Do a keyword search on Google. Are people searching for whatever is on your site? If not then social media is the way to go. Run a pixle from fb and google on your site so you can get demographics and retarget. Buy several small ads and see what performs. then retarget them a few times to catch every sale. Your CPC might be high doing it htis way so if you are selling something with tight margins then maybe thats not the best but if you are offering a service, just make sure you don't spend more than the potential revenue from 1 customer. If you can't get one customer from those methods you really should go back and look at your ad, your site, or some combination of the two.

Hello dude, Both the sources you are trying to use could be all good, you only need to go for both, and see whish one works better for you, then decide. As most people here are suggesting the answer you seek will come from testing. But in my personal experience Google Adwords works well for web design leads because the price per customer is generally much less then the cost of web design services. I would find a free $100 try coupon and test it out. Search other web designer google ads around the country and look at how there ads are set up. Take notes from that and create your own and test as you go. Aldo I highly recommend split testing so that you are constantly improving yours leads per click.

Google Adwords CPC is very high in which you end up not making any profit.
Google Adwords does not allow you to advertise to affiliate links directly,

To get leads for a web design company, it would be wise to go for some freelancing sites. In freelancing sites, you would find clients with developed needs and it will be easier to convert those leads, however, on Facebook or other social media you can expect brand awareness mostly but the real conversion would be very less.

Both are good but it depends on you, Because if you have enough budget to spend on paid ads then it will be good, benefits of this you got instant traffic on your site, also you able to rank it on Google, time-saving as well. But this thing is continuous until you have money.
In another case, if you haven't money, you have to spend time on directory submission, bookmarking, Forums commenting this way traffic redirected to your site and no need to spend money, also traffic you got that is original traffic. But you have adopt some passions here.

You can promote your website through PPC (Pay Per Click) ads in Google Adwords. But before doing that you have to plan everything target relevant keywords because if your website is showing on the irrelevant search you will lose all the money. SEO is free but it will take great time and effort and Yes It is worth to invest in Facebook ads not necessary to go for paid ads. You can promote your website and ask your friends to like, comment and share more and more. Make sure that your website landing page is good if it is not good then the users will exit the page which increases the bounce rate which is not good for your website

Both are good options, depends whats the source of your paid traffic. Is the traffic you're getting from the paid site, really convertible? is it related to your niche? And then comes for fb ads and adwords, are you able to optimize it? Are you able to find out the best keywords suited for your niche? If you can do all of it, you can try it out and see what helps you the most. Do share your experience here though, would be a great opportunity to learn about it.

Marketing is ALL about testing. Traffic sources, ads,landing pages, sales pages, headlines... you get it.

FB Ads is GREAT if you know how to make it work. So is Google (that's why they're the current duopoly for digital marketing).

The best thing for you to do is focus on one thing and make it work.

Facebook: works best if you can feed the algorithm data (previous customers, upcoming customers) and then let Facebook do the rest.

Google: CPC's can get expensive, but you can target "buy web design", so the leads you get would be highly targeted

Other sources: Solo ads can work, but most are junk.

By the way, FB Ads & Google (SEA) are also "paid traffic".

If you want to discover the traffic source that works the best for you, without having to see which source costs the most, set up a landing page to collect e-mails and optimize based on leads.

I've done Google Adwords, FB and YouTube. It all depends on what you are selling. However I suggest that you research and educate yourself as much as possible before proceeding. Even if you plan to hire a freelancer because from my experience most freelancers will not put forth a great deal of effort and if you do not know what to look for you will lose money.

Facebook ads is good for traffic. Of course it helps getting leads but not all will be qualified.
The budget split must be more for search ads and then the rest for Facebook.

Any traffic FREE or Paid depends on two factors.

1. Time.
2. Money.

Let is look at the first option.

1. Time :

If you are a just starting out and you have time at your hand then you can use your time to generate traffic.

In this case you will create your website and do the required SEO as well as blogging to the extent that it attracts people to your website.

Then you can let the people know about your Product or Services on your website or through email marketing.

FREE traffic takes time. But once it starts working then the traffic or leads you generate will become autopilot.

2. Money.
