Pieces of advises wanted about SEARCH on the forum generally

Hello,

I am totally a newbie here and I don't know where I can read OPEN and RECENT threads

All the threads I read are very old and closed?

How can I search only for RECENT and OPEN threads?

Are they maybe uniquely in the War Room?

All your pieces of advises are more than welcome : my main INTERESTS are INSTAGRAM and PINTEREST

Thanks a lot,

SARAH

Hi, Sarah, and welcome, ok, first off you may be using the modern view that makes scrolling through posts trickier than classic, so l would suggest first off that you go to your nickname up the top, and when the dropdown box appears click on Classic View.

Then after that click on search, (scroll to the top of the page) or new posts.

But clicking on a section and just scrolling through the first few pages is the quickest way to see the most recent ones.

    Google is your friend here...

Sometimes the native search function can be a little wonky, especially in the modern view.

When you do your Google search, add the following to your search query:

    site:www.warriorfrum.com

That will tell G to limit the search results to the Warrior Forum. You can narrow your search by substituting the URL for one of the subforums for the main one. Since you mentioned Instagram and Pinterest, you could restrict your search to the social media section like this:

    "Instagram" site:www.warriorforum.com/social-media/

Works quite well. Just put whatever you are searching for in the quotes.

You can also use advanced search to narrow the date range.

      Hello,

      Thanks for your answer...
I will try... the "trick" of the date in the advance search,..

Sorry, I haven't understood the advise about Google search, as I was only speaking about the Warrior Forum SEARCH...
      Coudl you elaborate?
Could you for example give me here a link of RECENT Social Medis Post about PINTEREST invitation for example?
I will "study" further how you arrived to it?

      Thanks,

      SARAH

Here's a link to a WF search using the term "Pinterest" in title:

And here's a direct link to a PDF on Pinterest in the War Room:

Use the links given above. Also use advanced forum search with 'pinterest' and/or 'instagram' as keyword - try both 'in title' and 'in post' and see what you find. The search is not always straghtforward - play around with it a bit to see what you can find....use different keywords....fous on the 'social media' section, etc.

What you are asking for may not be something you will find here - several times you have specifically mentioned 'invitations' for Pinterest and Instagram. Posts 'inviting' people to join specific groups would be deleted here as promotional.

If your goal is finding invitations to those two services - you may need forums/blogs dedicated to those specific topics only.

      Thanks for your answer...

Yes, one of my goal was to exchange invitations on PINTEREST on this forum... so you said it isn't the right forum for this purpose, sorry I didn't know. Hopefully I am in the one month for free trial...

Do you have an idea of some forums more specialized in this, sorry I am a newbie on forums (not on PINTEREST!), maybe you may send me some links in private, it would be very useful for me...

      Thanks a lot...

Sarah, when you add the site url to a Google search, G limits its results to pages on that site . So using something like

    "Pinterest invitations" site:www.warriorforum.com/social-media/

would return posts containing the phrase 'pinterest invitations' from within the Social Media section of this forum. You can set the dates using Google's advanced search function.

Like Kay said, play with it and see what you get. You won't break Google...

As Frank told you, though, this is a discussion forum, not a place to seek out or issue invitations.
