How do I market a tech website?

Hi,
I don't have any idea about digital marketing. I'm a technical person.
I fix hacked websites and harden them. I have just launched a website offering my services for a subscription. What is the best way to market it?

You can promote it through social media like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin etc.

I would suggest that linkedin and bing ads will work best for your niche

Facebook will be the best place for such crowd. Google Adwords is also effective in some cases.

Twitter, Instagram too offer such options, but personaly, I feel it is less effective than Facebook

I think you're in an extremely difficult niche because most people don't really care about a site being hacked until after it happens to them.

Sure everyone says they don't want to be hacked and they get a free Sucuri plugin to save them from the world (lol) but most will cause self inflicted damage like adding Wordpress themes/plugins to their own server without knowing what's included in the file upload.

Again, they don't care until after their site is down.

I'm not sure how that could even be a subscription site.

yes. You have a point. But plugins like Sucuri are selling subscription plans as well.
is there any place where people go when they are hacked? thousands of websites are hacked daily.

The best way to market your services will be Pay per Click, and Social Media like Facebook and LinkedIn.

I beleive with a niche space such as hack prevention you can write blogs about how your product or services can help and use PPC. Snag emails with surveys to unlock specific "free" content on your site after they stay on your site for a certain amount of time.

Do keyword research and see what competitors are doing, what kind of keywords are they using on their blogs, and what kind of PPC ads do you see when you type "hacked website" and other phrases. Take note of your competitors and feel free to simulate their strategies, especially lacking confidence with digital marketing.

Also it's extremely important to ensure your stie is mobile first. 70% of users search google from their phones.

One last thing, what's your value proposition, why would someone use you over a competitor? Make it clear and make it a headline of a blog as well.

    Best,

    Travis
