Hello everyone,

I've been an inconsistent member on Warrior Forum for quite some time. I have been pretty quiet for the most part, and this is my first forum post.

I am completely new to internet marketing, and I want to get my feet wet. I am super hungry and more than willing to take action. The only problem is, I do not know where to start. I have been on YouTube all day trying to find practical steps to take to start my own business, but pretty much all the videos on YouTube are clickbait. I do not know where to start, and I am just looking for a course that has good info and viable steps one can take to achieve great success in the realm of internet marketing.

I am asking all my fellow warriors to help me. Is there a course you would recommend that gives step by step instructions to starting your own business? What advice, starters, pointers, etc. would you give me as a person who is starting out? I made it a goal to make $5,000 by June 30th, and I'm not sure how viable that is, but I am willing to put in the work to accomplish that goal. Any advice, coaching, pointers, etc. about my inquiry would be greatly appreciated!

We need more information before anyone can give any worthwhile advice.

What have you seen in your research that you may have an interest in pursuing?

What are your talents, likes, dislikes, etc?

Have you read any of the hundreds of other posts just like yours? Most of those posters have shiny object syndrome which is why nothing has worked. Sounds like you do too. You don't need a course so much as you need to make a decision and get started and then adjust as needed.

I made it a goal to make $5,000 by June 30th, and I'm not sure how viable that is, but I am willing to put in the work to accomplish that goal.
Not viable at all. Forget it - it won't happen. Especially since you are starting from scratch asking what the first step with only a month to go.

      Hi Mark,

Thanks for your reply. I'm an avid golfer, so that obviously interests me. I'm interested in making money online as well (and hopefully teach other people how to do the same, once I become successful).

I've heard of the terms landing page, squeeze page, build a list, etc. but I don't even know where to start, what services to use, etc. to acquire those things. I'm not lying when I say I'm a newbie. Let's just say I'm hungry to take action, but I do not know what kind of action to take. Hopefully my comments can give you a better understanding of where I'm coming from.

Are you looking to create your own products such as instructional videos or content about a topic such as golfing and sell them or are you more looking to be an affiliate where you would sell other people's products?

    Hi,

You are looking for making money on Clickbank by promoting other people's products.
For that, you need to paid promotion. Also you can go with blog option in Warror Forum.

    Thanks

If you want to promote other people's products on Clickbank, personally it is so competitive for beginners. You can search and try doing affiliation on Jvzoo. However, before taking action, you need to learn and search by yourself cause there is no specific course for anyone. You can search more information on Google instead of Youtube.

The most simplest thing you can do is to sign up for Ebay and Amazon and sell your used and unwanted items. If you have no items you can go picking to thrift stores and garage sales.

  • I am also in the same boat as you. I am a newbie when it comes to affiliate marketing as well. But I have read so many great posts on this forum already that I feel inspired and excited to work towards my goals now. I just joined this forum yesterday and I am already getting some much needed advice on how to make my venture a success. I think I have found a home !!

Before you do anything work-wise, check who you are BEING. 99% of Warriors or more - even some with worldly success - are BEING someone operating mainly from an energy of fear. Leading to tons of struggle, some failure, and some success but attained by manipulating folks. Genuinely do IM because it feels fun to you, and if you are being this person, you will follow sound advice patiently while hitting the ground running.

    Hi Walner,

I get it, I have been in your shoes. I've watched countless YouTube videos on how to make money online. The best thing to do is to buy a course that teaches you how to do it step by step. Here are some pointers.

    1. You will need to get a landing page made(Clickfunnels or Leadpages) to collect emails
    2. You will need to get an email autoresponder to send people emails
    3. You will need to find a converting offer on Clickbank or other affiliate programs.
    4. You will need to drive traffic to your landing page(make YouTube videos) the fastest way is by paid traffic.

The biggest thing is to take action. The learning curve can be steep that is why it is so important to buy a course, but not any course. You need to find a course that teaches you everything and doesn't hold back the "secrets" and one that offers coaching at no additional cost. I found that course, if you are interested let me know.

Getting to $5,000 by June 30th isn't realistic with Clickbank offers, they are low ticket affiliate sales. High ticket affiliate sales is where you need to be at.

    Hey Walner,

Hope you are having a great day!

After reading all the posts in this thread, I see where you are going. You know that you want to learn digital marketing. You then want to teach other people about it.

Also, you want to go for Clickbank based affiliate marketing. It's a great path. Though, I agree 5,000 in the first month is a bit optimistic.

In case you want to follow this path, I would recommend you to go for e-mail marketing. It's a solid way to build a business that has longevity and you can be sure of a monthly income if you do it right.

For email marketing, you need to create a simple opt-in page around a particular niche. This can be done using any autoresponder service. Host the opt-in page on a domain which you can buy from Google or GoDaddy etc.

On this page you will offer a free gift, a lead magnet in exchange for your vistors email address. A simple opt-in page is shown below. This can be free report or a free course teaching people 5 ways to do a thing, or 7 quick tips on SEO etc. depending on your niche. What works best is a downloadable PDF of 10-15 pages giving people quick tips on how to achieve a particular goal.

Next, you need to create really amazing email campaigns and create great content which you share with your subscribers. This can be done through an autoresponder which allows you to send a broadcast email to all your subscribers at once.

Building the email campaign and content is where you need the expertise and guidance. That can be worked upon as your progress on this path. To begin with I would recommend you start by doing more research and working out on what I just shared with you.

If it would, who wouldn't be a success after watching them? You're looking for easy magic. It doesn't exist.

The standard marketing techniques are the same for almost any product or service. They're called, 'the basics.' Learn those and then drill down to the specific marketing techniques for the niche you are interested. You are putting the cart before the horse, which will take you nowhere.

Look, I don't know where to start, and all I'm asking for is for help. I'm looking fo a "how-to" guide on how to get started. I realize I may fail, and I realize it's going to take a lot of perseverance, but I'm not like other people who look for ways to "get rich quick." It may appear that that's what I'm trying to find, given my goal to reach $5,000 by June 30th, but forget that goal for just a second. I just want to learn the "how." How do I build a landing page? How do I send out multiple emails? How do I get started? That's all I'm asking, and that's why I'm trying to find a course that gives out this kind of info. I don't know why you people think I'm this newbie that has this "shiny object syndrome." I'm just a guy that's craving success in the realm of internet affiliate marketing, and I don't even know where to start.

Every single question you have asked has been asked and answered on this forum, thousands of times. SEARCH!!!

How do I build a landing page? Really?? About 873,000 results on YouTube. I find that hard to believe but that's what the search results say.

You don't have 'shiny object syndrome.' You suffer from 'mental masturbation syndrome.' You'd rather ask the same questions, over and over, rather that find answers and put them into action. Identify one problem. Something at the most basic level. Find a solution. Put it into practice. Now that you have built some self-confidence, move on to problem number two. Each step gets easier as you progress.

You're problem is you don't want take step one. You're a dreamer, not a doer!

Anyone can build a landing page in 1 hour. If you don't want to build one - buy one. There are dozens of people here that make a living doing that, or - should they just hand you their work for free?

Hitch up your jockstrap and get to work. You are totally embarrassing yourself.

$5,000 by the end of June. One of the funniest and most ludicrous things I have ever read on this forum - and I've seen some real doozies.

Go away. Accomplish something. Then come back and ask for help. As it is now, no one can help you get your head out of your ass.

Don't cry now that the big, bad man was mean to you. lol Grow up.

, I think you should start by reading some e-books. I would recommend Anik Singal's the circle of profit and the E-mail lifeline to begin with.

He shares some really good information in those books. You should also sign up for a trial version of any auto responder. Most of them generally offer 14 days to 1 month of trial free.

During this time you could learn how to set-up an opt-in page with them. Most of them have tutorial videos on the website themselves.

Select a niche and create your free gift about it. Write a simple report and save it as PDF. Host it on a free file hosting service such as Dropbox. For how to host it and share it, you should see this video.

                    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f27A-RT6lEg

For building your email content, you should subscribe to emails from leading affiliate marketers to get an idea of the content and the flow they share in your emails. It would help you build the mindset of an email marketer.

There isn't a single course - there are many books out there. Most people gravitate towards internet marketing as an "in" to business and there are many opportunities in this field.

The main reason is the barriers to entry are low and the only initial cost is time.

I think there are many many options out there, and I was lucky enough to fall into one particular niche related to high authority link building, which becamse especially lucrative after Panda and Penguin smashed all the forum and comment spam, along with web 2.0's and many "tiered" strategies.

If you are armed with the knowledge, you can figure out a product to sell.

Having said that, you need a market.

As the poster above me has said, email marketing is one excellent tactic and should be wholeheartedly encouraged.

This. Right. Here. Knowledge of yourself is important. If you don't have a cool head in this space you can easily for prey to greed and fear. Operating from a place of fear will make you come to irrational conclusions, and that can cost you time money and energy.

None of which are worth wasting.

When I first started I had similar emotions, operating from a sense of fear rather than a place of understanding.

      Very powerful.

One piece of very important advice I can give any newbie is to hold on to your shorts. It's going to be a long rocky rough road. Do not believe the over-hyped stories you see floating on the web even some on this forum.

While they may be true, for example, some warrior making $15000 his first month, such cases are rare. If you don't guard yourself, you may soon fall into the stigma that fast large paydays are commonplace around here. They are not.

Like all things good, internet marketing is a skill that takes TIME to learn and master.

Do not try to jump the gun. Take your time. Trust the process.

    Create a YouTube Channel.
    Start a blog.
Make videos and blog posts on a regular basis.
And make a landing page for all above.
Join a Email Marketing website like GetResponse or Aweber (Most important, I ignored this when I started and I still regret it)
This will start your digital journey.
    Keep realistic goals.

Step 1: Learn something, something which provides value.

Example : Graphic designing (Photoshop/coral) or website design or filmmaking or anything which interests you. There are local institutes where u can go and learn any of these skills.

After that, provide those service here on warrior forum and other freelance sites like upwork, fiverr etc. Slowly and slowly grow big.

Honestly, considering that there are so many shiny objects claiming to make u money without any expertise, its really hard to find a perfect course which can teach u everything.

U need to learn something and then take it from there.

Start by learning to become an affiliate marketer
rather than creating products as some may advise.

At this stage you need to learn the basics and by
trying to become an affiliate marketer you set
yourself up with a good grounding in general
online marketing. Other money making opportunities
will come later if you want to go that path.

Look at some marketing bloggers such as Pat Flynn,
Matthew Woodward, Neil Patel etc who give away
lots of good free guidance for the beginner.

Affiliate marketers that have useful step by step
guides include John R. Barker, Sarah Staar,
Rosalind Gardner, Kevin Fahey and others.

Try to promote programs that give some form of
residual income as that is how the successful
marketers make a lot of their income.

You may need individual coaching later but at this
stage concentrate on getting up and running.
Don't be a perfectionist, just get something
    acceptable out on the Net.

You will improve gradually but what you need now
is some commissions to prove to yourself that you
    really can succeed.

    Good luck.

I myself is new to all of this and i learned the technical part through searching, so here are some steps:

    1. Create a site easily through a platform like weebly, you can also selfhost on siteground with wordpress, don't know what all those are? google them

    2. Decide the product you will sell and research it a ton, learn it in and out

    3. Create a plan about the content you will post on your site's blog or vlog, know exactly what kind of content you will post every X days and how it will be structured, according to the current trends every site should have a blog or a vlog for content generation. You should prepare at least 5-9 videos or articles before you launch your site and know how you will follow up. It takes preparation and planning to create a business.

    4. Squeeze pages are basically the signup forms which ask for subscription, some sites offer those but i don't remember them, GOOGLE THEM, you can do email marketing through mailchimp, i have never done it but im sure you can find how to do it. With those you can send automatic emails to your customers after they subscribe in order to drive them back to your site and make them purchase something

    5. Create an account on every social media and every forum related to your product, share your content there and answer questions everywhere related to your product. Add a link of your site to your signature on the forums. Also make guest posts on blogs who are related to your product, try to sneak links there as well.

    6. Create a store page to your site with the affiliate products.

I honestly found myself that you should just abandon a niche that isn't related to a pretty expensive product. You love golf, i personally love esports, niches like these are probably better with a PPC model and require tons of traffic in order to work. Clickbank is kinda strange so i can't really suggest anything, i personally recommend amazon since that's the most straightforward.

It takes a ridiculous amount of time to learn everything related to marketing, you will spend a lot of time googling, so just begin and be patient.

Lastly, you should really check out weebly, i was like WTF when i first went to that platform, it's extremely easy to build a site through this.

Hi Walner, I'm in a somewhat similar place as you. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going on Youtube and checking out Miles Beckler. He puts out a TON of free content that is great. I'd recommend checking out a lot of his videos and either one or the other might resonate with you. Basically, he advocates making a ton of great content in the "style" you feel comfortable with so if you suck at writing, do videos and if you have the budget in future, you can hire someone to transcribe your videos into blogs and can also pull the audio to create podcasts. Or if you do not want to be on camera but enjoy writing, write blogs but learn about SEO so you can write the blogs with titles that have a higher likelihood of getting clicked on. For example, if you start writing a blog about golf and just randomly write posts with no focus with the title "Golf", they wouldn't be as SEO/human friendly as "Ultimate Guide To Buying Golf Balls" or "Ultimate Guide To Perfecting Your Golf Swing" Also, learning html is a HEADACHE unless you're naturally nit picky and into numbers but if you can remember title and something called an h1 tag (header tag). You want to structure your posts so that these keywords like golf are in those.

Miles has a video on keyword research that is great so check that out. Because for all we know, there might not even be a big enough market for that keyword or search volume (although to be fair, I just found out about this thing called keyword golden ratio where if enough ppl are searching for something but there's not enough results, can be low hanging fruit to help your site get something called DOMAIN AUTHORITY but this is really more advanced stuff)

I think just stick to the basics of putting out great content, building up trust with people and then at some point, you sell them something via your email marketing campaigns.

Miles recommends wordpress thrive themes which is way cheaper than clickfunnels. I used to be a member and while the founder, Russell Brunson, opened up my eyes to the idea of funnels, their actual service goes down once in awhile and is very expensive.

But there's also a great ebook called 7 Day Startup who I can't remember the author offhand but makes a great case of being able to validate and test out a business idea(s) within 7 days so you could in theory sign up for the free trial of clickfunnels and you'll know within a week or two if you have traction or not.

I tried this with a few ideas and the painful yet helpful results showed me what were viable and what were not viable ideas but note, this is a different idea than that of Miles philosophy where you put out great content of something you love that geniunely provides value to ppl which is what I'm currently focusing on at moment.

To supplement my income, I'm looking at doing a small agency to sell marketing services to small businesses which is why I came back here today to see if there were any best practices and tips from other successful small agencies/freelancers.

Anyways, good luck and when you make your first million, don't forget to spread the love and energy to others as that's my main reason for wanting to be in control of my destiny, the freedom to choose who I work with. Somebody might be a million dollar client but if you feel low energy, stress and negative, f that. I'd rather work my butt off for someone for a lower price who's positive and trying to help the world in some way.

    peace

EDIT: It's been a few years since I've been on this forum and just saw my older posts and maybe my first post might give some more ideas. While I appreciate what the others had posted after, I will say that what resonated most with Miles is

YOU HAVE TO PROVIDE VALUE FIRST TO ESTABLISH TRUST

which I can personally vouch for because out of all the millions of IMers out there, his name was the first to pop in my head last year after taking a break since he had not tried to pitch me anything in his online marketing, always providing quality knowledge vs some slick copywriting (which is still important) but should be backed up with substance vs BS. Here's the link to my original post
    https://www.warriorforum.com/main-in...-anything.html

one more link as it's a coincidence you mentioned golf and I was looking for proposal templates and came across this:
    https://betterproposals.io/template/...0LYpVGDOmqza40

Maybe you could use this if you decided you wanted to reach out to golf courses looking for content creators

    Hello.

It depends do you have some skills required to run IM business or not. For example if you like writing you can run blog, if you like creating graphics you can create graphic package and sell it on affiliate platforms, etc. If you have no skills the best thing is to get some good course about affiliate marketing and follow it.

    Cheers :-)

Congrats on embarking on the online route! Good luck in your journey.

As someone who is fairly new on their online journey you will find it very, very hard to make $5,000 by the end of June (2018)!

Ask yourself why online? Do you want to increase your income? Do you want to have more control of the hours you work? Are you burnt out with your current career and looking for something new, something you have more control over?

Be clear what online success means to you.

So what is your goal, what is your budget, how much time can you allocate and what is your time frame for your overall online goal?

Then find an idea. Either create something yourself or you could look at selling others products.

If you want to do something yourself, look around your life that you can build around. Do you have a special skill or talent, extra training you can pass on? What are your hobbies? Have a notepad or use your phone to write down ideas that come up.

You mentioned golf, do some research about how people are making money in this niche. It could be reviewing courses, reviewing new equipment, online golf instruction, local golf tours, etc.

I'm sure you'll find something to kick start your online journey. Don't be too bummed out if your first idea doesn't work out, or even your second or third. Keep building up your experience and keep at it.

    Good luck!

The major problem for people with starting in internet marketing is that they focus on making money instead of applying a good strategy for online marketing

Of course is about making money but if you focus only on this and you may fall in quick which scheme and not consider the fact today the most important aspect is using a good strategy

So assuming that you wanted to make this amount of money you need to find a niche where there are product that can make you this amount of money

The circle steps of finding this niche and see if there's a market for this product and then building the list around the niche you choose

Pay attention there must be more than one product to promote cause if the seller take down this product you end up with nothing to advertise

So you needed to focus your efforts on the niche instead of the product

Then you need something to give away to people in exchange of their mail

Building an email list is the crucial aspect of your marketing and India is the most important one to position yourself as an authority

While and after your building a list you can promote the product you have chosen, and give value and infotainment at the same time

    Hi there

I agree with other posters that it is never easy to make money online, you have to work hard at it to start making money. I know that in my case there was a lot of trial and error involved before the penny dropped and I began to see money coming in.

It is essential to have the drive to stick at it and the absolute determination that you will make it work - that is probably the most key ingredient to being successful. Otherwise you won't last the distance and be resilient enough to overcome the bumps along the way.

I use a few methods to earn online but affiliate marketing is what makes me the most money. To be successful at it, I have learnt that there are a few factors that you will need to be able to do well:-

    1) You need to choose a profitable niche. You need to specialise in an area where there is a lot of traffic on the internet, searching for a solution. If you can, find a problem that they are DESPERATE to solve. That is why relationships and dating, health and making money niches are quite good. If the niche is a wide one, focus on one narrow area to start with and then branch out gradually from there.

    2) You need to promote good affiliate products that convert. If possible sign up with an affiliate partner who can offer a range of products which includes a higher ticket item as well as less expensive items as well. That way you can increase the value from each customers.

    3) You need to have a means to promote the offers - a strategy of building a good website where you post reviews and valuable information, together creating informative youtube adverts work well. You need to become skilled in how to structure your website and write copy that gets the best results. This will take you time to learn. A great tip is to write as if you are writing to one person only, not to a collective audience.

    4) You need to get a lot of high quality (i.e. interested and ready to buy) traffic to your website in order to make a good amount of sales.

    5) As soon as you can, you should have a free product to offer visitors to your website so that they will sign up and opt in to your email list. Building an email list will be key to making money. The most important thing is to provide a huge amount of value to your list. My moto is give, give, give and give some more and in return I receive! It works because your audience gets to know you and trust you and is then more willing to buy from you, as they would from a trusted friend.

If you can get these things right it is possible to do really well at affiliate marketing. It is really important to take action, learn as much as you can and really keep going at it.

There is a link to great free video training and other information resources via my profile if you would like some guidance.
