Where would you go to find a JV partner specialized in a very specific niche ?
Is posting on forums the right place ?

You've posted about it here several times - I think the problem is you need the right forums. You need forums focused on that niche or general area - not an IM forum.

Best thing is to find related forums and participate so you become known and build a reputation. An idea is only as good as the person behind it - and if you are an unknown, chances are even a good idea may not garner much attention.

Thank you Kay King. Great advice. I'm starting to explore forums related to my niche and already found a couple of very nice ones !

Do you know little bit about the JV/affiliates crowd ? What is their profile ? Are they mostly influencers ? Are they targeted advertising specialists ? Or mailing list owners ? What is the best way to approach them ? How do you raise their interest ? Is a high commission the best way ?

Sorry, I have way tooo many questions ....
Anyway, thank you for the tip, great day to you.

Ya' think? You forgot the most important one.

The JV/affiliates crowd are not 'mostly' anything that I've noticed. Those offering JV's are usually quite specific about what they are searching for and open to. There are more 'wannabe' affiiates than productive ones.

What I know more about is 'real estate'. As a niche, 'real estate' is a common target for product ideas. I've seen many ideas for real estate products and many of them would be in violation of state laws in the US or are based on misperceptions about agents and brokers.

Before promoting an 'idea' - which anyone can take and use as an idea can't be copyrighted....do enough research to see if the idea/product is viable...if there is a market for it...etc.

OptedIn, I'm willing to pay for advices and mentorship. In fact, having a marketing mentor would be a dream. Maybe it's Kay King, maybe you ? I would take the plane just to have the priviledge to sit at the same table as a legitimate marketing mentor. But, how would you establish a mentorship deal ? Pay per advice, per week, per month, per what ?

Kay King, I didn't choose the real estate niche, it's the real estate niche that chose me. I've launched a product 2 months ago, without even remotly considering real estate agents as potential buyers. And yet in 2 months realtors and agencies are the ones registering, using and buying the product the most, by far. Almost eveyday there is a realtor contacting me for new features. So much, that I'm building a spin off just for them.

There is an opportunity right in front of me, I'm a valuable developer, but a totally ignorant and illiterate marketer. If I don't do something soon, I'm afraid I will miss the train.

I was making a funny - not being snarky - or the was the attempt at least. :-)

Unfortunately, it could be a nightmare. You are about to get a raft of PM's from folks claiming that they can help you - for a fee. Very often, an exorbitant fee. Don't open your wallet.

Maybe it's Kay King, maybe you ?
I can mentor you on becoming a pick-pocket. That's about it.

Oh, my. The vultures are circling. They have caught the whiff of dead meat.

Check your schedule. There is always another train heading for your station. Don't board one until you can get the seat you want in the car you want.

      PLEASE - be very careful.

      Cheers.

You rather post on targeted forums, and blogs, related to your niche, but also you could try to work with social platforms, and join some groups related to your niche over there, and then try to post over there, avoiding to spam. You could also try to reach blogs related to your niche too, this should be a good start for you to gain something.
