Why do I sell eBook in English, but not in Lithuanian?

This is about social media.

Anyway, I been writing a long time, but struggle with making money in Lithuania.

I can make serious books online in Lithuanian language, but nobody buys from me. I have some following on social media. Sometimes I receive donations, but not books sales.

But when I make a joke 2500 word book on Kindle I sell some, even when I have no audience estabilished.

When I give away stuff for free I get views on youtube, more views on facebook. Once I had 500 subs on youtube, who were interested in my talking, but ended up deleting the channel because I thought it's slow growth and nobody likes my crap.

I had made 3 viral videos here in Lithuania, but after 15 minute fame everyone forgot me despite the work I did.

I just tell philosophy and jokes, stories from my life. I don't create TV like videos, just me and webcam.

Some people tell me I'm a genius. I don't even have a hater.

When I give away my content for free, they read, my free audio book had 200 views on youtube, without any marketing, but when I want to sell - nobody buys.

I guess nobody likes me. I've been writing Lithuanian blog for 2 years, had only 10 visits per day.

People who do lame videos get more views and get instantly successful in a matter of weeks.

I doubt it's the problem in the webcam or they need editing, I think the problem is in me.

I feel like a social outcast.

    Don't be too hard on yourself. Change your mindset and your perspective about yourself will change. Nothing will happen if you always see yourself as a loser. Always have a positive outlook about what you're doing and eventually you will get your well deserved break. Somebody will buy from you. Maybe you just need a little help with marketing. Hiring people who has the expertise is one way of doing so. Onlinejobs is one site where you can find those workers.

    There is just more of a demand for the books you publish in english.

    Convert your books from Lithuanian to English and see what happens.

    You need a bigger audience. May be Lithuania does not have large enough audience to appreciate your effort. When you do something in English, suddenly you are presenting yourself to a wider audience. Making a video with your webcam and you is more appealing these days to people as people are fed up with models and their pre-scripted dialogues. They want content from normal people like you and me. So don't give up. You Tube can be major source for you to sell your stuff. Combine you tube videos with email marketing. It has worked for me and I am sure it will work for you.

    I agree with the others here. Lithuania may just not have the audience size you need. You might have a better chance at success if you have your works translated to English. It immediately widens your range.

    But there might also be an issue with how you're marketing yourself. How aggressive are you with promoting? Do you join and regularly participate in groups on Facebook, for instance? Get in touch with your followers?

    And regarding your blog--could be an SEO problem, though your current audience certainly has an effect too.

    Promoting on Youtube is always hard work though. I definitely understand your pain on that. Many folks' videos tend to fare better on Facebook than on Youtube.
